Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong Files For Divorce

"It was a difficult decision," Taylor says.

Sadly, for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Taylor Armstrong and her venture capitalist husband Russell, the tensions revealed in their on-going on-camera spats have proven too deep to repair. "It was a difficult decision but I have decided to file for divorce from Russell," Taylor told People magazine on Friday.

That there were serious problems in their marriage was no secret to RHOBH fans who followed their squabbles throughout out the show's first season. "We still love each other," Russell told OK! magazine last week. "But after going through counseling it has gotten to the point that the stress is just too much for both of us." Russell, who, fans noted, often looked uncomfortable on camera added that while he wants "Taylor to be the biggest actress on TV," he confessed that he was never smitten by the spotlight himself. "I want to feel happy not being on TV!" he told OK!.

The couple, who wed in 2005 and have a five-year old daughter, Kennedy, denied rumors that they had split back in May. But neither couples' therapy, nor romantic weekend getaways together did the trick. "Although we have tried our best to work our differences," Taylor told People in her statement, "I have come to the conclusion that it is in the best interests of our family that we separate."
