Bethenny Frankel Talks About Having a "Partnership" When It Comes to Her Love Life

While Bethenny Frankel's romantic life with Dennis Shields is sometimes on and sometimes off, the Skinnygirl mogul does have a certain approach when it comes to her romances. She treats them like a business. Which really doesn't surprise us given how business-minded and pragmatic this The Real Housewives of New York City mom is. 

“I’ve been with someone on and off for years. It’s like a partnership where if we’re not being teammates and it’s not working and one man is down, then the other man is down," she explained during an appearance on Steve Harvey's talk show this week, via PEOPLE. "We’re trying to really kind of be good partners and be good teammates and I think relationships oddly are — and this sounds cold — but a little bit like business. If both people aren’t happy about it but slightly uncomfortable and giving up something or giving in [to] something, it doesn’t work. So both partners have to say, ‘All right, I’m in it for this.’ And I think we might be at that point, believe it or not. I haven’t said that to anyone yet."

When The Daily Dish spoke to Bethenny earlier this year, she shared her current philosophy on potentially settling down with a special guy.

"I am dating and I'm looking for a partner. Like a real partner. Someone who's not intimidated by all that comes with me, which is really a challenging thing," she said. "Years ago, Andy Cohen said to me, 'Bethenny, we're quickly pricing ourselves out of the market.' So I recognize it's not that easy to meet the right partner, but it's like real estate: I'm not willing to settle. It has to be great, or I'm not doing it."

She further noted, "I'm ready now to really meet someone and, yes, settle down. I know exactly what I want, so I think things are usually easy to find, like in real estate, when you know what you want."
