Who Is Kelly Dodd? The New RHOC Cast Member Has Already Made a Big Impression
The stay-at-home mom may be new to #RHOC, but she's definitely not going to hold anything back.
After an explosive Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the series will be back for Season 11 on Monday, June 20 at 9/8c. Let's just say that no one is too thrilled with Vicki Gunvalson after the controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers and his cancer diagnosis. But how will new cast member Kelly Dodd now fit in with the rest of the ladies, considering she missed all of that drama that's sure to play a big role at the start of the upcoming season?
We'll have to wait and see when Season 11 premieres next month. But we're dying to know more about Kelly right now. Hey, it might even help us predict whose side she'll be on when the series returns.
1. She's a Stay-at-Home Mom
Kelly has an uber-important job: She's a stay-at-home mom to daughter Jolie. But Kelly doesn't just value her immediate family; her younger brother Eric and mom Bobbi also live with her and her husband Michael. Kudos to this mom for keeping this household together.
2. She's Working Through Her Marital Issues
Unfortunately, Kelly's life doesn't always look like a Norman Rockwell painting. She has also had some trouble in her marriage in the past. Luckily, she and her hubby Michael have recently reconciled, and hopefully we'll see them on the up and up this season of RHOC.
3. She Has a Good Friend Among the Cast — and May Be Making More
Kelly's show bio says she's going to find herself "in hot water" when she gets close to Vicki, even though her friend Meghan King Edmonds warns her against that. But things rarely end the way they begin on RHOC, so who knows who's going to be aligned with whom by the season finale?
4. But She Should Also Be Friendly with Heather
Heather Dubrow should share a glass of champs with Kelly since it's also the rookie's adult beverage of choice, according to her show bio. It sounds like that Champagne doorbell in Dubrow Chateau will be put to good use.
5. She Would Probably Get Along with A Housewife From Another City
In the RHOC supertease above, it's easy to see that Kelly is incredibly outspoken — so much so that it even looks like she's going to call one of her castmates the C-word during the season. We recently learned that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Erika Girardi is also a fan of that word — well, when you put a "y" at the end, that is. We can only imagine the kind of conversation these two would have.
6. She's Not Originally From the OC
Kelly didn't always call the Golden State home. She hails from Arizona, but she's not totally new to Cali. Kelly previously lived in San Francisco, as the above gorgeous pic of her with a baby bump shows.
7. She's Been on Dancing with the Stars... Sort of
Many Housewives have competed on past seasons of Dancing with the Stars, from NeNe Leakes to Lisa Vanderpump to Kim Fields. However, Kelly was on DWTS even before she was a Housewife. Well, she was actually technically in the audience of the show during an October 2015 episode, but we totally wouldn't mind seeing her compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in the future.
8. She's a Big Sports Fan
Not only is Kelly her cheerleading daughter's No.1 fan, but she's also been spotted cheering on her own favorite sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Ducks, and San Francisco Giants. Maybe she could be Tamra Judge's new workout buddy.
9. We Can't Wait to See More of the Interior of Her Home
Kelly has already given us a bit of a tour of the interior of her home through several posts on Instagram, and we really like what we see. She puts a new twist on art deco that somehow manages to be chic and funky all at the same time. Those furry stools are enough to make our jaws drop.
