After getting a lot of recent attention for her tweets, Rose McGowan addressed the sexist practices of Hollywood casting during her visit to Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (June 25). Here's the backstory: On June 17, Rose tweeted a thinly-veiled message that she had received a script asking actresses who were auditioning for the film to wear a "form-fitting tank that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged)."
(The film involves Adam Sandler in case her tweet didn't make it obvious.)
"I just thought it was funny, tragic [comedy]," she said on WWHL. "The part that I thought was really funny was, 'Please read the script so you understand the context of the scenes.' And I'm like, 'It's an Adam Sandler movie.' What am I, like, dumb? I get it."
However, she didn't put all the blame on Sandler. "[Adam] didn't do it," she continued. "It was the casting office. And the thing is, it's just institutionalized stupidity. And so many people it went past and it was probably a girl that had to type that out." Watch her appearance below.
