Here's a little insider info: We knew there was a chance that Saturday Night Live would air a Pregnant in Heels skit last night. The rehearsal feed is available inside 30 Rock, and the minute we saw Jay Pharoah walk across the screen, we knew he was LT. (God bless the SNL costume department.) We couldn't wait to see what the actors would come up with, and on a night Tina Fey is hosting no less! And here's the result:
Sooo, although some might say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, this could've gone either way. Abby Elliott, playing the show's star Rosie Pope , claiming that one of the reasons she speaks the way she does is, "Every morning a thousand bees sting my tongue," gave me a case of the "Awwws." But, just as I knew (and hoped) Rosie would, she took it all in stride, tweeting, "#PregnantinHeels spoof on SNL so brilliant-such honor to be made fun of+ SO glad I have crazy accent...so many things to give thx for ;)"
We also got a sneak peek at the star's post-show blog, where she says, "Being made fun of truly felt amazing, such an honor and I hope you all got a good chuckle too- apparently my accent is all kinds of crazy!" That's the spirit, Rosie! Bravo fans seemed to enjoy the skit during the show, with many echoing tweeter kris10nelson's sentiment:, "@RosiePope has made it! SNL just did a Pregnant In Heels skit! @BravoAndy - Rosie MUST be on WWHL. Love my @Bravotv"
