Rosie Pope Sounds Off on Schwarzenegger Babygate

"It's not necessarily about the nanny," she says.

By Lauren Metz

If anyone could have used an extra prenatal hand, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger. After all, the disgraced gov once had not one but two babies on the way at the same time -- one with his wife, Maria Shriver, and one with his housekeeper. The nitty gritty details of that revelation left us with our jaws hanging open and our blame faces on, Rosie Pope says you shouldn't automatically go shaking your finger at the hired help.

"It's not necessarily about the nanny," the Pregnant in Heels star tells OK! Magazine. How do you figure? "If your husband or your partner is somebody that is going to commit infidelities, the nanny is just someone who's around a lot more, so if they are attracted to the nanny, maybe it's more likely that it would be the nanny as opposed to someone else. I think it's less about the nanny, and more a comment on marriage and what's going on there."

To prevent your own relationship from falling into such mucky waters, Rosie can't emphasize enough how important it is for a couple to remain intimate -- even when kids and careers consume your every waking moment. "A marriage needs intimacy – otherwise you become roommates," the maternity concierge continues. "It's something you can't deny, and nobody wants to talk about it, but you need to keep having sex and you need to keep being intimate. Otherwise, you lose that connection."

But keep in mind that's not a foolproof recipe for the perfect marriage. "That doesn't mean that some people aren't going to be horrible and cheat on you, but by and large, if you do work on your marriage, it's more likely to succeed," the mom of two says.
