Scheana on Ex Mike Shay: “There Were Intentional Things He Did That Hurt Me”
The SURver opens up about her divorce and what it was like to see her ex at the #PumpRules reunion.
There has been no shortage of drama on the Vanderpump Rules Season 5 reunion, but it all culminates in Part 3, when exes Scheana and Mike Shay come face to face for the first time since calling off their marriage. A few weeks after filming the reunion, Scheana sat down with The Daily Dish podcast to talk about what it felt like to see Shay again.
"It was really difficult. I didn't think it was going to be that hard for me, but I got through it. I cried a lot. I, like, emotionally blacked out afterward and was like 'Wait, what did I just say? Did I say this? I should have said this.'"
She said right before Shay came on set, she begged a producer for a drink.
"I just needed something to calm my nerves."
Scheana thinks that watching this final act of the reunion will bring their relationship some added closure.
"I feel I was able to let most of [my anger toward Shay] go at the reunion. Once it's all aired and done, I think I'll be able to let all of it go."
She said fans have attacked her online for moving on so publicly with new boyfriend Robert Valletta, but her response to them is to keep watching.
"There were intentional things [Shay] did that hurt me...He already hurt me as much as he possibly could, so I'm in a place now where I'm happy, and I want everyone to know it."
The final installment of the reunion airs Monday night at 8/7c.
