This Is How the Southern Charmers Are Preparing for Hurricane Florence (UPDATED)
Some of the Charleston friends have evacuated while others have stayed put in anticipation of the storm.
UPDATE (Sept. 14, 2018, 6:02 p.m.): Craig Conover shared with The Daily Dish that he evacuated Charleston for Savannah, Georgia. “I evacuated Charleston on Thursday," he told The Daily Dish in a statement. "I try not to get in the way of Mother Nature, but I hope everyone in Florence’s path stays safe, especially the emergency personnel currently assisting in the area.”
UPDATE (Sept. 14, 2018, 11:30 a.m.): Shep Rose expressed concern for his fellow residents of the Carolinas as Hurricane Florence approached on Thursday, Sept. 13, tweeting, "[Glad] to see the hurricane slightly downgraded. Hope my Charleston and Wilmington friends are ok."

Hurricane Florence is expected to hit the Carolinas early Friday morning and the Southern Charm crew is preparing for the worst. Although its wind speeds have dropped to make it a Category 2 storm, forecasters are warning that the hurricane has retained its potential to deliver catastrophic damage, according to The New York Times.
Austen Kroll, Shep Rose, and Kathryn C. Dennis let their fans and friends know that they have evacuated Charleston. More than one million residents in the Carolinas and Virginia were ordered to evacuate in anticipation of the storm.
“I hope everyone and their loved ones keep an eye on the storm’s activities and stay safe,” Austen, who evacuated deeper inland to North Carolina, where his family has a home in Charlotte, said in a statement to PEOPLE. “South Carolina, and Charleston specifically, is no stranger to hurricane season. I’m hoping that the damage they are predicting from Hurricane Florence’s landfall is not as devastating as expected.”
Kathryn revealed on Instagram that she has taken shelter in Nashville, writing, "I am in LOVE with Nashville. Thank y’all much for the hospitality during this terrible hurricane & evacuation. My prayers and thoughts and love to the East Coast."
Shep flew to Chicago, but not before dipping in the "chest high" waves one more time. "I'm paddling out right now," he posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
One Charleston resident who is staying put is Patricia Altschul, who has stocked up on essentials like gin and sausages and has taken preventive measures for her home, such as wiring shut the shutters, having her swimming pool drained, and bringing her animals into a safer space.
