Tamra Barney Talks Engagement, Wedding Plans, and That Ring

The RHOC star shares the story behind her bling for the first time.

The Real Housewives of Orange County's Tamra Barney and boyfriend Eddie Judge cemented their love in the shiniest way possible recently -- an engagement ring -- news that got RHOC fans buzzing (us included). So we got in touch with Tamra to get the story on the ring, the happy couple's wedding plans, and whether or not her co-stars will be getting fitted for bridesmaid dresses.

The Dish: Your ring is stunning! Did you help Eddie pick it out?

Tamra: This is a funny story and the first time I have ever told it publicly. Eddie and I are big Costco fans and go together once a week. Everyone knows that the jewelry is right when you walk in. For the past year, I would look and try on the rings, and he would always drag me away telling me if I didn't stop he would actually buy me a Costco ring one day. I told him I wouldn't have it any other way. Guess what? He did! The best part is, it came in bulk! We often joke that we will get married at Costco. I love my ring and it is the exact ring I had been looking at for the past year. However, I am having my jeweler at Nuggets and Carats design two pave eternity wedding bands to go on each side of the ring.

The Dish: Did you have any clue that he planned to pop the question while on vacation?

Tamra: I thought it was strange that production wanted to go on our vacation three months after we wrapped up filming. I had talked to Heather and she said, "I bet he is proposing." So then I couldn't stop thinking about. I didn't want to get my hopes up since Eddie loves to travel and takes me away every chance he gets.

The Dish: Who was the first person you called to tell you were engaged?

Tamra: I called my Mom and she was so excited.

NEXT: Tamra talks wedding plans, and if her RHOC co-stars will be there...

The Dish: You and Eddie love to travel; do you know yet if you'll have a destination wedding?

Tamra: Eddie wants a destination wedding in a foreign country. I am worried about the cost for family and friends to travel. I want everyone at our wedding. It will be all about celebration for us and less about tradition.

The Dish: Have you decided on a date or have a general idea when the wedding will happen?

Tamra: No date set yet, but we need a year. I want to be together for three years before we walk down the aisle. I want more time spent together with the kids as a family, [so] we just moved in together to make sure the kids adjust and work out any issues that might come up.

The Dish: Are you a Vera girl? Monique Lhuillier? Or do you have another dress designer in mind?

Tamra: I have no idea what direction I will go in; they are both amazing designers. I would be honored to wear both.

The Dish: Will any of your RHOC co-stars be bridesmaids?

Tamra: Now that's the million dollar question! I guess you will have to watch and see.

The Dish: Does Eddie have a single brother? ;)

Tamra:  NOPE. If I had a dollar for every time someone asks me that, I would be rich!

Fredrik Eklund Shares the Best Advice He’s Received

The 'Million Dollar Listing New York' star dishes on staying positive and being true to yourself.

Fredrik Eklund is known for his high-kicking can-do attitude, which is part of the reason why he’s become so successful in the real estate world. And for that he has his grandmother to thank, who shared the best advice he’s ever heard with him when he was ten-years-old.

”It’s hard to translate to English, but she told me, ‘If you want to fly like a bird you have to cut off the poop that weighs you down,’” he shares with the Puget Sound Business Journal. “That means you cannot be around negativity. You cannot let the naysayers win. You have to cut them from your life and soar up the sky.”

Aside from his grandmother, the Million Dollar Listing New York star shares that he’s been lucky to have many positive influences throughout his life. “I have had so many amazing people and so many personally wonderful people around me,” he says. “I cook my own sort of ‘soup’ from those people.”

At the end of the day though, Fredrik says being true to yourself is key. “Being myself and who I really am, being authentic to who I am, is so important,” he says. “I made the mistake of not doing that tin the beginning of my career, thinking that people couldn’t take the 100% truth of who I am. But I know now that the only thing you have is you, and if you can sell yourself, you can sell anything.”

And being him isn’t so shabby nowadays! It’s something the number one agent in New York doesn’t take lightly. “I am very thankful and blessed. I don’t take anything for granted,” he says. “I am thankful for every moment. Every second. And by saying that every heart beat and every moment is pivotal, I mean the only real pivotal moment that ever existed is now. If you realize that, it is a pretty amazing moment to be alive!”
