Back in May, Taylor Swift gathered up her epic girl squad for the over-the-top "Bad Blood" video. The Joseph Kahn-directed visual included badass cameos from the likes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams, Jessica Alba, Lena Dunham, and more. It, of course, also included an appearance from Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, whose small-screen persona also serves as the moniker inspiration for Taylor's cat Olivia Benson. When she stopped by Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, she opened up about how she was enlisted to appear in the VMA-winning video.
"I didn't know what to expect. No, [the chance to appear in the video] sort of just appeared. It sort of fell out of the sky. Actually it was just a text," she explained, before breaking down what it was like on set. "It was so sweet because I didn't know what to expect because they're all 12. And they were so lovely and inclusive. And I actually had so much fun with them."
In fact, co-star Karlie Kloss made Mariska feel right at home. "And the day we got to the video, I met a lot of them before, but Karlie Kloss grabbed my hand and she's like, 'I'm staying with you.' It was one of those things [where] I felt like I was in seventh grade and the cool girl picked me. But it was so sweet and I had so much fun. They're so tight these girls. And Taylor's ridiculously talented. And it's hard for me to even download her, what she is, because I don't understand the talent and poise at that age."
