10 Bravo Dinner Parties That Were Worse Than Your Thanksgiving

From #RHOBH to #RHONJ, these epic meals give a whole new meaning to the term "food fight."

By Laura Rosenfeld

Thanksgiving inspires warm and fuzzy thoughts of delish food and lovely company. But for some people, that's more of a dream than a reality. Instead, sharing a big meal with the fam can sometimes turn into an evening filled with political debates and relatives judging your life choices. In short, Thanksgiving dinner has the potential to get real awkward, real fast.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and the Bravo App.

As we all know, Bravolebs have experienced breaking bread turning into something horribly bad. There have been several uncomfortable, combative, and downright disastrous dinner parties on Bravo over the years. Once you read about the following fetes, you'll be truly thankful that your Thanksgiving dinner was much more pleasant by comparison.

1. The Table Flip Heard 'Round the World

Prostitution Whore!

All of the drama surrounding Danielle Staub came to a head in The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 1 finale. The relatively civil dinner party the ladies of the Garden State had at a restaurant went from zero to 60 in no time at all when Danielle dropped the infamous Cop Without a Badge book that contained some sordid alleged details about her past (and was a major topic of conversation among the other RHONJ 'Wives). Teresa Giudice thought Danielle was being disrespectful toward her while explaining what was and wasn't true in the book, and we all know what happened next. Most of us had probably never heard of a "prostitution whore" before this epic table-flipping incident, but we sure knew what it meant after.

2. A Psychic Medium Causes Huge Drama

A Dramatic and Dysfuntional Dinner

Never has there been a non-Bravoleb dinner party guest quite like Allison DuBois. Though she wasn't one of the cast members of Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the medium certainly acted like it during one of Camille Grammer's dinner parties. E-cig in hand, Allison seemed to have it out for Kyle Richards from the get-go. The two eventually ended up in a screaming match, which seemed to inspire Kim Richards and Taylor Armstrong to loudly rehash their issues, too. In the end, all of the fighting made the RHOBH ladies lose their appetites, and they made an early exit from Camille's mansion. "I felt that it started out positive and went down in flames," Camille said during the episode as she reflected on the dinner. We think it's safe to say that's an understatement.

3. Stassi's Birthday Dinner Turns Into a Disaster

Katie Leaves Stassi’s Birthday Dinner

A birthday in Cabo San Lucas seems like a dream come true, but it was anything but for the Vanderpump Rules cast. That's probably because Stassi Schroeder invited the whole SUR gang to celebrate her big day in the Mexican paradise, whether she liked them or not. With lots of drinking during the trip, there was of course lots of drama, which finally boiled over during what was supposed to be a nice and relaxing birthday dinner for Stassi. Despite Stassi's wishes, Katie Maloney continued her huge couple fight at dinner with boyfriend Tom Schwartz, causing Stassi and Kristen Doute to tell her to cut it out. Feeling completely ganged up on, Katie decided that this party was over for her and left in tears. Clearly, Katie thought that it was Stassi's birthday, and she could cry if she wanted to.

4. The Scary Island Showdown

Kelly Needs to Go to Sleep!

Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon didn't exactly see eye-to-eye when they got together in the Big Apple during Season 3 of The Real Housewives of New York City. Anyone that hoped things would be different during the ladies' trip to St. John that season quickly had those dreams dashed during one infamous dinner on what has become known by RHONY fans the world over as Scary Island. The New Yorkers were confused as Kelly said Alex McCord looked like a vampire and accused Bethenny of attempting to kill her. Believe it or not, things went even further south when Kelly confronted Bethenny, accusing her of bad-mouthing her and her children in the press. Kelly's protesting of being a part of the drama with Bethenny and desire to get some shut-eye eventually drove the Skinnygirl to the edge. Bethenny blew up at Kelly, telling her to "go to sleep," which really freaked everyone out. No Real Housewives series has seen a weirder dinner party than this.

5. A Charter Guest Gets Inappropriate with Kat

Kat Has Nice What?

Kat Held and Adrienne Gang had already been at odds during Season 1 of Below Deck, but this incident drove their relationship to the point of no return. The charter guest, who was friends with Adrienne, made some inappropriate comments about Kat's chest during one dinner service on the yacht. Kat was disappointed Adrienne didn't come to her defense, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back, driving her to partake in some alcohol while on charter. This is a big no-no and would nearly get her fired later on in the season. Who knew a dinner could have such big consequences?

6. Mama Elsa Experiences the Wrath of Her Dinner Host

Blowing Up at Elsa

Though there had been plenty of drama between The Real Housewives of Miami cast members leading up to this Season 2 dinner party, the real fireworks came from playboy Thomas Kramer, who co-hosted the soiree with Karent Sierra. Thomas started shouting matches with Ana Quincoces and Mama Elsa and insulted Joanna Krupa before the night was through. Just watch the way he berated Mama Elsa above, and you're guaranteed to get chills.

7. Heavenly Has a Dinner Party from Hell

Simone Won’t Exclude Mariah for Quad

Heavenly Kimes may seem like a proper Southern belle on Married to Medicine, but don't let her poise fool you. She can definitely be passive aggressive like the best of them. That's exactly what happened when Heavenly threw a dinner party for her castmates during Season 2 of Married to Medicine. Things started off pretty rocky when Heavenly called out Toya Bush-Harris for taking so long to close on her new home. Then, it turned into a major feud between Simone Whitmore and Quad Webb-Lunceford about whether or not Mariah Huq should be excluded from the group. The only thing that was served during this dinner party was lots and lots of drama.

8. Shannon Storms Out of Lizzie's Dinner Party

Shannon Storms Out!

Lizzie Rovsek tried her best to bring her Real Housewives of Orange County castmates together for an elegant dinner party. Unfortunately, it only worked to tear them a part. After Heather and Terry Dubrow confronted Shannon Beador about a supposed plot to take down her and her husband, things rapidly escalated even after dessert had been served. Shannon accused Heather of spreading lies about her. When neither of them could agree on the story, Shannon stormed out and yelled, "You guys will all see the truth!" Somehow the Beadors and Dubrows were able to resolve this conflict, but at the time, it definitely didn't look like they would ever be able to achieve that.

9. A Christening Turns Into a Fist Fight

Relive the Family Brawl

A Christening is supposed to be a joyous occasion, but the fancy reception to celebrate the big day of Joe and Melissa Gorga's son Joey turned into the family brawl to end all family brawls in the Season 3 opener of RHONJ. The tension between the Giudices and the Gorgas leading up to the Christening exploded at the event and got physical when the two Joes went toe to toe after Joe Gorga got into an argument with sister Teresa. The participants in this bout rapidly multiplied as it seemed like every adult male got in on the action. The chaos eventually subsided, but it's hard to remember anything that happened at this dinner party that didn't involve fighting, crying, or screaming.

10. The Mention of Mr. Chocolate Leaves a Bad Taste in Phaedra's Mouth

The Chocolate Rumor Explodes

Phaedra Parks is usually a very reserved and private person. So when Cynthia Bailey brought up rumors that she was dating a man from Africa known by the name of Mr. Chocolate, all hell broke loose at this dinner party during Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. When Phaedra's frequent adversary Kenya Moore added fuel to the fire, she nearly clocked the beauty queen with her clutch. Phaedra collected herself and left before she did anything that could be perceived as assault, but the incident definitely helped draw a line in the sand in this social circle.
