The Countess Cheers on Michael Phelps

Plus, Andy, Kyle, and Phaedra root for Team USA.

By Lauren Metz

Sure, he's won 22 gold medals (natch!) but those shiny accessories aren't what make Michael Phelps a winner in LuAnn de Lesseps' eyes.

"Top athletes drive themselves to win and it takes an incredible amount of time, effort and natural talent to become an Olympian. Although we've seen Michael Phelps win more medals than any other Olympic athlete, he's lost a few races along the way," the New York Housewife states in her What Would the Countess Do column for OK! Magazine. "What makes Phelps a champion is that after a loss, he stays focused on winning the next race."

On that same note, Andy Cohen let out his best go-team-go for USA. "Everybody send great vibes to #TeamUSAWaterPolo - they play Hungary today! @chaylapin @sheabuckner @bearmann4 @waterpolotony #USA," he tweeted.

And over in Beverly Hills, queen-of-the-split Kyle Richards showed her pride in Aly Raisman, Mckayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber's impressive golden run. "I love our U S Women's gymnastics team :-) #Olympics #fab5," she tweeted, and Atlanta ‘Wife Phaedra Parks echoed, "Gabby Douglas is the 1st African American to win the women's All Around in gymnastics! I'm so proud #Olympics #BlackHistoryFact."
