Gina Kirschenheiter Doesn't Do Stupid

The Real Housewives of Orange County are still getting to know newcomer Gina Kirschenheiter. And in recent episodes of this season, it's become clear that they still have a lot to learn about the new girl in town.

Gina's news about her plans to divorce her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, has had the RHOC ladies scratching their heads since she has admitted that they still have a good relationship and nothing catastrophic happened to break them up. Kelly Dodd broke it down for us during an interview with The Daily Dish earlier this season in July. "She says that she still has sex with him, she's still attracted to him, they're good friends. I mean, we were kind of dumbfounded, like why are you getting divorced?" Kelly explained. "I got divorced because I wasn't getting along with my husband [ex Michael Dodd], wasn't having sex with my husband, and I wasn't attracted to him. If I had all those three things, I would never be divorced."

Even though she doesn't necessarily understand Gina's reasons for wanting to call it quits with her husband, Kelly said that she will continue to support her new friend, even offering up some advice as someone who recently went through a divorce herself. "Do it now, girl, that you're young because it doesn't get easier when you get older," Kelly shared. "Maybe she's not telling us everything that's really going on, but if that's what she wants to do, that's her business, not mine."

As for whether the other RHOC ladies were also showing their support for Gina while discussing her divorce at what turned out to be a disastrous dinner at Vicki Gunvalson's house in Monday night's episode (clip above), Kelly said during the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show on Monday that she believes they were just looking out for her. "Well, I think they have good intentions. They've been through a divorce. They're older, of course, and they've been through things," she said. "They want her to succeed in her marriage. So they're like, 'OK, you've got to try, however that is.' But I think they have good intentions, yes."

Unfortunately, Gina doesn't exactly see it that way. "Obviously opening up to Vicki has prompted a response of immediate judgment and ridicule. Not only is she non-understanding, but she doesn't even try to see my standpoint at all," Gina wrote in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "If the other women don't understand my decision that’s their problem, not mine. If they want to believe something else is going on, so be it. I cannot be concerned with the negative judgments of others regarding on my life. I will make my own decisions for my own family, and I will stand by them. Vicki doesn't understand my decision. It was super disappointing to not be heard."

Gina filed for divorce from Matt on April 2, citing irreconcilable differences. They were married for seven years and have three children together: Nicholas, 5, Sienna, 4, and Luca, 2.

We'll find out a little bit more about why Gina's divorce seems to have had a profound effect on Vicki in next Monday night's episode of RHOC at 9/8c. Watch a preview, below.
