Peggy Sulahian Reacts to Kelly Dodd's Divorce

Kelly Dodd shared that she plans to divorce her husband, Michael Dodd, after 11 years of marriage during a recent interview with The Daily Mail.

How to Watch

Peggy Sulahian may have known Kelly and Michael for the least amount of time since she's the newest addition to The Real Housewives of Orange County, but nonetheless, she found the news about the couple heartbreaking. "Well, it's always unfortunate that a family has to go through this," she said during an interview with The Daily Dish Monday. "I always say, 'There's two things that ruin a family: It's divorce and cancer.' It's not easy. It's terrible. I feel for her."

The RHOC newbie went on to say that she and her husband Diko Sulahian have gotten to know Michael, and "he's an amazing guy." However, Peggy also said that she sensed there was trouble at home for the couple based on how Kelly behaved with her fellow OC Housewives. "I didn't need to watch the show to know. You lashed out for a reason, you're unhappy, and you've got to take it out on somebody. And you take it out on whoever it is, but you don't know why you're taking it out because it doesn't make sense when you're being disrespectful to the person in front of you," she explained. "I could tell from someone's actions and someone's eyes what they're going through, and I do feel for Kelly... To have divorce in the family, it's very unfortunate, especially when you have a child. Hopefully, they'll reconcile in the future."

As someone who has been married for 22 years herself, Peggy said that she had hoped to impart some wisdom to Kelly as she went through this difficult time with Michael. "I would have given [advice] to her if she was easier to talk to and she was approachable. I would have been there for her, even if we don't get along or if she just sees things differently, if she just asked me for it, I would be there, no matter what," Peggy shared. "It doesn't matter what you've done, what you've said, because you're coming from a place of concern. I would help, I'd want to be there for you. That's just how I am."

Peggy said that she would have shared with Peggy that relationships require give as well as take. "I wanted to help her out too as far as what a relationship should be because relationships are not one way," she shared. "It's [about] give, and it's [about] respect, a mutual understanding from the beginning. And I think if everybody does their part, there shouldn't be problems. There's a reason why you got married anyway, right?"

Kelly shared why she is seeking a divorce from Michael in an interview with The Daily Mail at the end of last month. "It's just a case where two people can't get along," she explained. "It's best if we went our separate ways and concentrate on our daughter."

Kelly and Michael have an 11-year-old daughter together, Jolie. The RHOC couple previously filed for divorce in 2012, but they later decided to get back together.
