Ashley Darby has been devoted to getting her marriage to husband Michael Darby back on track this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac after they decided to separate last year. And things really seem to be getting back to normal for the RHOP couple as they continue to work on their relationship.
But Ashley admitted to The Daily Dish earlier this season that they still have a ways to go before they can completely overcome and move on from the issues that contributed to their separation in the first place. "Michael and I are still, I think, finding a way to come back together post-separation. The separation didn't happen overnight, getting to that point, so mending the relationship also won't happen overnight," Ashley shared. "We're getting closer. Like now when I mention babies, he doesn't squirm and squiggle and sour up like a grape, but I don't know. We're not 100 percent there yet."
Ashley pointed out three tactics that have especially helped her and Michael resolve their conflicts more quickly and easily following their separation. "In order to be in a better space, Michael and I, we made a commitment to each other that we would not fight with dirty words, we wouldn't hit below the belt, and we try to apologize in the moment. So using those three things has really helped us because we still get into arguments," Ashley explained. "We're married, we're also very different people, we have different opinions, we argue, but we argue in a more healthy way."
As far as her baby plans go, Ashley said that she still really wants to start a family with Michael and definitely feels her biological clock ticking. "Unfortunately, I'm only 50 percent of the process, so if I can convince Michael to want to have a baby, then maybe we can revisit this discussion," she said. "Who knows? Next time you see me, maybe I'll have a little bun in the oven. But today, I do not. Bummer. Hopefully, one day soon."
And now that Ashley and Michael's restaurant Oz is in the black, the RHOP restaurateur said that she hopes to be one step closer to starting a family. Michael has said in the past that they need to break even on the eatery before they could start trying for a baby. "One thing at a time," Ashley said. "I'm looking to the future. I see a little 'Michshley' baby right there. Not quite in reach yet."
