'Top Chef' Pairs Up with First Lady Michelle Obama

Cheftestants step up for "Let's Move."

By Colleen Werthmann

Top Chef just can't get enough of Texas! As the competition continues to heat up on Top Chef: Texas, Bravo will also be part of an upcoming panel at SXSW. But wait -- there's more! Dallas fans get a special treat this Friday, February 10th, when Bravolebs join First Lady Michelle Obama to help fight childhood obesity.

Judge Tom Colicchio and a bevy of former cheftestants are teaming up with The First Lady at the Dallas stop of a tour celebrating the 2nd anniversary of her Let's Move! initiative.

Top Chef All-Stars winner Richard Blais, Fan Fave Fabio Viviani, and fedora-tastic Spike Mendelsohn, will join Jennifer Carroll and Season 9's Grayson Schmitz and Ed Lee to compete in a healthy cooking competition with students from Nancy Moseley Elementary School, which was ranked 'Gold' for its participation in a USDA program promoted by Let's Move!.

Tom is passionate about the importance of good nutritious meals for all students, saying, "Unless we make sure all kids in the U.S. have access to plenty of healthy, whole foods, we will be diminishing their ability to learn, cutting off their potential to become healthy, productive adults, and paying the healthcare and social costs for generations to come." He elaborates, "We have the land and the technology to produce enough healthy food for every kid in America to eat a nutritious diet, and the knowledge and resources to educate children and families everywhere about the importance of eating right and exercise. The health and future security of our nation is directly linked to the health and wellbeing of our kids!"

Tom, does that mean you'll do the "Single Ladies" dance if necessary? We'd pay to see that.
