Here's Why You'll Love Unanchored, Straight from the Vanderpump Rules Producers

This Vanderpump Rules-meets-Below Deck hybrid is going to be your new favorite guilty pleasure.

If you can't get enough of shows like Vanderpump Rules and Below Deck, you're in luck. A brand new show is setting sail this December, and it's about to be your latest TV obsession. With a beautiful tropical background and a dynamic cast much like everyone's favorite SURvers, Unanchored will follow a group of nine best friends as they embark on a "life-changing" yacht adventure around the Bahamas. As if that doesn't sound good enough, watch the clip above to hear all about the show directly from the producers themselves, and keep reading to see why it'll have you hooked.

Unanchored is produced by the same people who make Vanderpump Rules.

The masterminds who've blessed us with Vanderpump Rules are back for more — but this time, they're in the Bahamas instead of West Hollywood. "We're taking a lot of the same crew members, same people from Vanderpump Rules, and we're doing this new show that's all gonna be on the water," said Jeremiah Smith, a co-executive producer of Unanchored. Jess Snavely, a production manager, added that "around 50 crew members" were asked to join the three-week shoot.

The location looks like something from a postcard.

If you love seeing all the tropical destinations the yachties get to travel to on Below Deck, just wait until you see the backdrop for Unanchored. Snavely also spilled that the crew traveled to the Abaco Islands, "a small island chain in the Bahamas." From the crystal blue water to the white sandy beaches, another crew member put it best when she said, "I mean, come on, it feels like we're not at work."

The cast is a group of best friends.

According to Smith, a good cast is the glue that holds a "follow-reality show" together. And luckily, the nine people who hopped aboard for Unanchored happen to be best friends. "You can't make a good show unless you have a good cast," he shared. "We are incredibly lucky that we found a group of people that are living their lives in such a different way than most people live them... they are a really, really unique, interesting, crazy group of people and I cannot wait for America to see their story."

The trip will be life-changing.

So, with a stellar cast and a seasoned production team, how will they come together to make one epic show? Bill Langworthy, the executive producer of Vanderpump Rules, pitched the idea for Unanchored to Bravo after learning about the "life-changing" expereinces people had after going on yacht trips like this one. "These trips change people's lives. They came back and they felt like they were different people, so that was really interesting to me. It made me curious; what was going on on these trips that affected people so profoundly? Then the idea of it was, 'Can you capture a life-changing experience on camera?'"

While we'll have to wait to get a glimpse of this life-altering yacht trip, watch another exclusive sneak peek of the new series below, and don’t miss any of the adventure when Unanchored premieres on December 3 at 10/9c.
