Scheana Shay Is Taking on a Sexy New Role Previously Held by Kendra Wilkinson

Scheana Shay is temporarily hanging up her SUR dress and picking up a pair of ... glasses. The Vanderpump Rules SURver will be taking on the role of Robyn in the Las Vegas production of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man beginning January 4. 

Scheana will follow in the footsteps of fellow Bravolebs Sonja Morgan and Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi to portray the shy and mousy Robyn, who receives quite the sex ed from author Dan Anderson. He will be played by choreographer Chester Lockhart, who will also join the Las Vegas production with Scheana in January. "I'm really excited to get back into acting. I haven't done anything acting-wise in years," Scheana told The Daily Dish in December (clip above). "So it's exciting to get back to my roots and do what I love doing."

Scheana said that her newfound single life after breaking up with boyfriend Rob Valletta in the fall and finalizing her divorce from Mike Shay last spring partially inspired her to start acting again. "I really haven't had a passion for anything other than my relationships for the past several years. I'm a person, when I'm in a relationship, it's all about the other person. I put anything I want to do aside," Scheana said, citing helping Shay with his music career and assisting Rob with his TV production company over the past few years. "So I just haven't done anything for myself in a while. I haven't auditioned in years. I haven't done anything like this." 

But a recent viewing of her friends Kendra Wilkinson and Jai Rodriguez in the Las Vegas production of Sex Tips gave Scheana the motivation to get back into the spotlight. "We had dinner after, and I was just like, 'What a dream job. Like, how fun. You get to go onstage, be the center of attention,' which we all know I hate," Scheana joked. "But to make people laugh every night, that just seemed like such a fun job."

The next day, the Sex Tips creative team reached out to see if Scheana wanted to audition to take over the role after Kendra. Soon enough, she wowed them with her audition tape. "So right after that, I was like, 'OK, I still got it. I can still memorize lines. It is something I'm still passionate about and enjoy doing,'" Scheana said. "So it's exciting just to get back into something I haven't done in a while and it's something I've always wanted to do again."

Scheana will be living in Las Vegas during her run in the show, and Kendra had some valuable advice for the SURver in surviving her time away from home. Check it out in the above video. 

Still, Scheana couldn't be more excited to start 2018 off right with this new gig. "I thought 2017 was gonna be my year, but then it was a little up and down," Scheana said. "So I'm like, OK, maybe it's next year, hopefully."
