Scheana Shay's younger sister Cortney found herself in a scary situation last week. The Vanderpump Rules sibling's car caught on fire and burst into flames as she was driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles with her boyfriend, Justice Horden, on Thursday, January 18.

Cortney and Justice detailed the harrowing experience on social media. "We were just driving and the steering wheel locked up and we saw smoke behind us so we pulled over and it started coming thru the vents so we hopped out and the whole underneath was in flames," Cortney described the incident on Twitter. "The car is done tho:( lost so much stuff."

Photos and video of the Jeep show the car engulfed in flames with black smoke pouring out of it. Justice can be heard saying "Are you kidding me?" in one video showing the destruction on Twitter.

Members of the fire and police departments arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, according to PEOPLE. However, the car was completely destroyed with only a scorched shell of a vehicle remaining.

Still, Scheana was just glad that her sister was OK after the incident. “When I got the call from my mom, I freaked out, but knowing she was okay was the most important thing. I can’t imagine how scary that was to experience,” Scheana told PEOPLE in a statement on Friday. “I’m so thankful they were all able to get out in time. It could’ve been so much worse.”

Cortney and Scheana attend the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 5, 2017 in Inglewood, California.

Scheana and Cortney's mom, Erika van Olphen, also expressed her gratitude that no one was harmed. "Cortney and Justice got out within minutes of his jeep becoming fully engulfed!" Erika tweeted. "Thank God they're ok!!"

Katie Maloney-Schwartz sent some love to Scheana's family, even if the two aren't currently on the best of terms. "So glad they are ok!" Katie tweeted. "This is sooo scary!!"
