Lisa Vanderpump left the warm climes of Beverly Hills to lend her name for an important cause: fighting ebola.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and the Bravo App.

On Monday in New York City, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star had the distinguished honor of speaking at the United Nation's "Stop Ebola and Build For the Future" relief concert. And for those who couldn't make the event, part of her inspiring speech is online (watch below).

"It was an incredibly overwhelming experience that will be remembered for a long time," Lisa tells the Daily Dish. "But that didn't overshadow the importance of the event Stop Ebola. Light relief after was had in the Clubhouse." (She dropped by to visit with Andy Cohen last night at Watch What Happens Live.)

"Distinguished and honored guests, do not let your legacy be one of silence. That we can still learn by our mistakes. [That] mistake being the silence during the Reagan administration in regard to the complacency in action taking in relation to the AIDS epidemic. It was 'their' disease. It was a 'gay disease.' Twenty-two million people died. Twenty-five million people are still infected. So they we were wrong," she said. "It was our disease and it still is. The same goes for ebola. It's not West Africa's disease. It is ours. Let us remember: Silence, apathy, a lack of support equals fatalities."

Other attendees at the event included former RHONY star Kelly Bensimon, Jackie Chan, Jeffrey Wright, Derek Jeter, Naomi Campbell, Timbaland, Salt and Peppa and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who took a photo with Lisa at the event. The event was co-hosted by Nick Cannon and Cheryl Wills and included performances by Estelle.
