What's 'Dancing with the Stars' Have Against the Housewives?

Eager Bravolebs remain wallflowers, for now.

By Colleen Werthmann

Looks like the producers of Dancing with the Stars have made a decision to leave the Real Housewives' dance cards empty.

"They have no interest in having any of the ladies on the show," one Dancing insider tells Huffington Post. "Season after season the housewives pitch themselves to grace the dance floor, and season after season the show says thanks but no thanks."

Former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel campaigned to get on the show in '09. She even snagged a front row seat at a taping, right next to the head of ABC -- thanks to a friend of DWTS host Tom Bergeron -- but no dice. This season, The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Teresa Giudice took her dancefloor hopes to Twitter, as did The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kim Richards. "Sadly I'm not on #DWTS this season! That would have been so fun," she tweeted this week when the new DWTS cast was announced.

An insider tells HuffPo, "Initially everyone assumed the 'Housewives' had been asked but Bravo had not allowed them to do a show on another network. But now it is clear Bravo would love its franchise to get exposed to 20 million viewers. However, they are just not welcome at the dance."
