What's Next for Teresa and Joe Giudice?

Their legal consultant reveals how they're preparing for sentencing.

By Sarv Kreindler

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges in Newark Federal Court Tuesday. The two won't be formally sentenced until July 8, so what will the two be doing until then?

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

The Giudices' legal consultant Wendy Feldman tells E! that the couple will spend the next few months preparing for the sentencing. "This includes all steps where Teresa and Joe will present their side to the government," she says. "We try to paint a picture of who they are as people. It's post conviction. What we do now is we show you the person, not the crime."

Feldman goes on to explain that the sentencing is "up to the judge. It's the person not the crime. Teresa and Joe have great respect for the process." Calling the proceedings a "very unique circumstance" she also adds, "There has never been a case of this magnitude involving a celebrity and his wife from a hit show. It could very well be a case of reverse celebrity justice."

In the meantime, Teresa is doing her best to be brave for her family. She released a statement about the plea, saying that she "took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago…I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family." She also confirmed that she will address the court at sentencing. "I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decision and express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public."

Bravo is currently in production for Season 6 of RHONJ.
