This Woman Accidentally Texted Sarah Michelle Gellar That She Got Engaged and Here's How The Star Responded
You could call this a lucky accident.
When 28-year-old Charlyn Willis got engaged, she was excited to show off her ring. So, she quickly texted Sarah Michelle Gellar a photo of her new bling. As one does. The only catch: Willis doesn't actually know the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star and had texted her by mistake. Nonetheless, Gellar was excited to share in Willis' big news.
Upon receiving the erroneous text, Gellar took to social media to congratulate Willis, and to relay the cute wrong-number anecdote to her fans.
In a December 14 Facebook post that showed Willis smiling while flashing her ring, Gellar wrote: "This is #CharlynWillis. She got engaged yesterday, and meant to text her sister, but in all the excitement, got me instead."
Willis was touched by Gellar's public recognition, and wrote a happy reply to the actress on her Facebook page. "Thank you so much for this. You’ve truly made my engagement experience even more of a life changer!" Willis wrote.
The soon-to-be bride also wrote, on her own Facebook page: "I guess the best way to announce your engagement is to have a celebrity to do it for you ... THANKS Sarah Michelle Gellar."
Indeed! In terms of engagement announcements, this one is pretty epic. The only question is: will Willis have a Buffy-themed wedding?
