This is no Tinder tale. Australian woman Aminah Hart has a love story that is so unusual, it’s hard to believe. But it’s true, and it’s soon to be made into a movie.
Amina met farmer Scott Anderson two years ago after she had selected him to be the anonymous father for her now three-year-old daughter Leila. After losing two baby boys, she used a sperm donation and IVF to give birth to a healthy baby girl at the age of 42. The donor was described as a twice-divorced, happy and healthy cattle farmer soccer player who had four children of his own.
When her daughter turned two, Aminah began looking for her donor. After Google only got her son far, she made a formal request to contact him. They met and fell in love.
The two married in December last year in Sorrento on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula in Australia.
“We managed to keep it quite a private day and it was just beautiful,” Aminah said. “There was a lot of love in the room for us. People were really happy to see two people so happy.”
Although she found love in a seemingly random way, Aminah says sperm donation is not a dating service.
“What happened to Scott and I is such a random thing. He was basically just a brief profile on a piece of paper. He could have been anyone,” she said.“The fact that we met and we liked each other and we fell in love and all of those things are still so farfetched to me.”
“Sometimes we do look at each other and go, ‘you and I met through (Leila) and we’re married now’. It’s kind of bizarre.”
Aminah has penned a memoir, called “How I Met Your Father,” and a screenplay is in the works for a feature film.
