Would Daniel Radcliffe Do a 'Harry Potter' Musical?
Star of mega-movies admits the idea of going to Broadway has crossed his mind.
We've had Harry Potter books, movies, theme park rides, and toys galore—but what about a Harry Potter musical? On last night's Watch What Happens Live, a viewer asked the film franchise's beloved star (and accomplished stage actor) Daniel Radcliffe if he'd consider taking his character to the Great White Way.
"I do like musicals. I do love Broadway. And I do love Harry Potter," Radcliffe muses. "Do I want those things to be combined, though? My instinct is that I don't."
The actor admitted, "There was talk about that a while ago" and revealed the topic used to come up on set—as a bit of a gag.
"It's something I would find hard to take seriously because that's something we'd used to like, joke about on set between takes," he says. "If we were doing Harry Potter on Ice, what would be the first song? The answer to that is 'A Kind of Magic' by Queen." See, Daniel, you're halfway there!
Ultimately, Radcliffe wisely didn't want to chuckle too hard at the prospect because "it might then happen!"
Watch Daniel Radcliffe share whether he would consider being in a Harry Potter musical and tell us in the comments: would you go see Harry on Broadway?
