You Should Be Watching Hulu's 'Difficult People' (There's an Andy Cohen Cameo!)
The #WWHL host talks about his appearance on the new Hulu series and whether he's caught the acting bug.
Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner are showing fans just how difficult they can be. The twosome have teamed up for new comedy, Difficult People, premiering on Hulu on Wednesday (August 5). And while the pals are certainly hilarious enough to keep fans laughing out loud all season, there is a slew of A-listers stopping by the series' freshman season. Kate McKinnon, Martin Short, Gabourey Sidibe, Ana Gasteyer, Seth Meyers (as a gay prostitute, naturally), Debbie Harry, Amy Sedaris, and Bravo's very own Andy Cohen all appear in Season 1. "Billy and I are old friends, and they asked to do it and so I said 'Yes,'" Andy told The Daily Dish. "I play myself. Billy is going to be a bartender on Watch What Happens Live and so that's kind of the scene, and I'm there, and I kick him out." However, he assured us the cameo won't be leading him to a career change.
Need more scoop on the series? Billy and Julie stopped by WWHL on Monday (August 3), where they shared what fans can expect from the series. "We're really proud of it, there's a lot of gay people on the show," Julie joked, before dishing on having the legendary Andrea Martin play her mom. "[It] is a dream come true," she shared. "She is such a genius."
Viewers will also get to meet Billy's extended TV family, including his "very Jewish" brother, played by Fred Armisen. And, speaking of Seth as a gay prostitute, Julie explained, "It was fun cause we got to have cameos, but have them do things that wouldn't normally do." We bet.
