I won! Again! By myself! I was really nervous about my design being over-the-top but I am glad that I pushed myself to do something a little more daring because it paid off! Reco’s piece was really well sewn and had great shape but I think the fact that I successfully incorporated print and color and worked from my reading put me in the lead.

I was excited for the final challenge when I found out it was about Tarot cards and psychic reading. As skeptical as I am about these kinds of things, I still believe that there is a lot that we don’t know about energy and how perceptive we can be of one another. The psychic talked a lot about me being a warm person whose friendships are really important to me which was completely true. My friends and family are a huge part of my life and a huge part of the reason I have made it so far in my career. When she talked about nature I immediately started thinking about flowers and the petal idea. The psychic was staring at me when the challenge began and later told me that I reminded her of someone she knew. I knew I wanted to go first and I am glad I did.

Oh and I forgot the Mini Challenge! I really couldn’t believe I won the Mini Challenge. My piece was not well sewn at all, but it just goes to show that this is design competition and not a sewing competition. Also, it really reminds me that I really need to trust my personal style and make clothes that I know that I would wear. Lastly, I was surprise and incredibly nervous that Vivienne Tam was our guest judge. I was the store manager at her flagship store in Soho for two years and I knew the detail in which she studies garments. I was absolutely thrilled that after working for her and wearing her clothes for years she told me she would wear mine. It’s amazing sometimes how life really comes full circle if you work hard enough.

Anna, I remember when you worked at Vivienne Tam. I was also a store manager on Greene Street around the same time. When I saw you on the show, I remembered your face and was intrigued. Congratulations!! I am sure a lot has gone into making your dream come true. Your clothes are truly beautiful. Best of luck.

Anna,
Your dress was amazing. I came online right after the show to buy it and was not pleased to see what Bravo had done to it. Is there anywhere else we can buy the dress with a print similar to the original? Keep up the good work - you are by far the most talented designer and you have the most positive attitude to match. Best of luck!

KatWil - if you think the dress was simply 'inverted', think on. That was a tremedous amount of work in a small amount of time, and most of all it was sewn so well. Reco's dress was something I could buy a pattern for in any store! The choice of pattern and colour made this even more special, it showed an eye for taste and form.

Your dress is beautiful and very unique. The one for sale is awful. I hope you win this competition. I believe you are the best designer. I agree with Phan -- stay focused and ignore the drama. Good luck!!

I've seen your designs on Project Runway. LeAnn the winner of Project Runway had three creations just like yours. What's up with that!

Loved your dress! It was so different and creative and fun. It reminded me of an inverted flower. I smiled as soon as it came out on the runway. I agree with the comments about the version for sale online. The fabric you used must have priced it out of the Bravo market. Although I liked Reco's outfit, it seems I've seen it before on Project Runway. My money is on you to win the show.

It is obvious you are talented, but the dress this week looked like a walking umbrella stand. I can't imagine that dress being worn anywhere but on the runway. Even high fashion dresses have to allow a person to sit. Take a photo of the model sitting in that garment. I'll bet it looks ridiculous. Unless you are a twig, why would you want to add so much width to your hips.

Anna,
I think you're gifted, knowledgeable, and mature -- a valuable combination of assets to have in a competition like this. I loved your "vagina" dress but was disappointed in the Bravo version.
Likewise, I wanted you to know that I bought the Bravo version of the black coat you made, and had to return it -- the sleeves were shorter and stuck straight out from the shoulder, rather than sloping gently down as in the original, and the overall shape was different. Bravo should get its (sewing) act together and sell garments that are true to the designers' originals!
I live in Providence, have taken many courses at RISD, and am proud to see an alum on The Fashion Show. Wishing you the best,
JR

I agree with the other oomments. Love your dress, disappointed in the Bravo version. They made it look like a clown dress with the change in color and pattern.

Keep up the great work! I am sure you are making your students proud.

I still want to buy the red dress you made.

Dear Anna,
Dear Anna:
I watch The Fashion Show for pretty much the same reason I watch many of the other shows on Bravo: because they're on Bravo. But I am the first to admit that, though I am gay, I am far from one to be considered fashionable. But I appreciate those who are.
But who I route - & occasionally vote - for (when that is an option) oftentimes depends on the person. While I tend to wish most well, I'm not likely to hope the ultimate best for everybody... particularly when one may be opinionated at the expense of others, incredibly rude to fellow competitors, & just downright mean. And sweetheart, you are surrounded by a couple of those folks.
But what I've liked & appreciated about you Miss Anna is that one doesn't have to look too deeply to know that you are genuinely a good person who, while dedicated to your craft, you're also sensitive to those around you.
You wrote in your blog this week, "The psychic talked a lot about me being a warm person whose friendships are really important to me which was completely true." And I gotta tell you that as she described you in these ways, I found myself agreeing. You seem to me to be someone who knows who you are, someone who is confident in the gifts you've been given, who is generous in sharing your talent with others, & one who is concerned with the greater good. I saw these things in you from early on.
So keep doing what you do, & I will continue to cheer you on.
Oh... & did I mention that I love your designs? Cause I do. :)
Be well...

Anna, there is something about your personality that I find distasteful. It is obvious that you don't like Reco at all!!! Try to erase that smug look when you win. It says "look Reco eat your heart out". Be a little more modest. You do know that Reco is GOOD !!!!!!

Anna,
I loved your dress. I thought you really pulled the piece together beautifully while still meeting the challenge criteria. Well done!
I do have a question: What is up with the number that Bravo is trying to pass off?

After watching Reco design that Halloween costume red dress, and he wasn't sent home, I believe the show is fixed. The judges told us that 90% of the people said they would not buy his dress. They were forced to send their favorite person home but they didn't. No matter how bad Reco does, they won't send him home. I would have walked off the set that night. This is just a show for entertainment.

You KNEW the guest judge??? She should have recused herself.
As for your dress, not many women will want to wear large, vajayjay red pockets all around the bum, no matter what Ms. Tam thinks.

I'm sorry to tell you that your design was a copy of what Leanne did on her collection for project runway season 5..so i know your dress was beautiful but nothing new so i don't know why it wow the judges..please be more original next time and dont get credit for something that didn't came up from your mind...

anna, i must offer you an apology and an elaboration.
the apology: i said in an earlier post on your blog that you were "hot," but that you wouldn't win this. i RESCIND that prediction. your designs have just gotten better and stronger every week. i now realize that you have a very good chance to win the whole she-bang!
the elaboration: as to what "hot" means, more than just being physically attractive (which you certainly are), you also have a clever, always-on mind; a generous and kind, but not naive, heart; and, from what i can tell, an artistic, welcoming soul. these are all, imo, extremely HOT!!

Anna, I loved your dress this week- the flirty playfulness of the floral print and the vibrancy of the red color made it something that young and more mature women alike would want to wear. I, like Phan, am so dissappointed that the Bravo version is a blue and green polka dot (couldn't they find a cheap red floral print- I don't think they're rare) but it doesn't diminish the cuteness of your original design. It's nice to see something in a color for a change!

Anna,

Congrats on your win! I logged on to Bravo to buy your outfit.....But I must confess, I am disappointed! :0( IMO, the chosen fabric of the polka dots is not as appealing and the waistband on the original really added something to the dress. So sad, but "I'm just not buying it".

Good luck in future episodes, I'm really hoping it comes down to you and Reco in the finale!

Hi, Anna. I think that you are a great talent and I love your topper designs. However, in my opinion, this week the phrase, "favor isn't fair" applies to you. I thought the Mini Challenge item was mediocre and your challenge item reminded me of Reco's winning lil' black number a few weeks ago. You simply added straps, inverted the skirt and made it colorful. Nonetheless, you've got it: you have found "favor" with the judges. Congrats!

Anna i love u, every single week i love your work its crazy cause it seems to me that you are the underdog thats nobody really talks about, but you win all the time. i love u and reco the most i want you two to face off at the end but it will be hard for me to vote. good luck and the dress u made for esp. 8 i wont it so bad but cant afford it right now hopefully it will still be on here when i can get the money for it. your students should be very proud, and i was wondering what school do u teach at?

I absolutely loved your dress. I was disappointed that the one for sale is a different pattern and color. The Red and the Flowers really are what made your dress so appealing and feminine. The one for sale looks like a "Wonder Bread" wrapper in green and blues!! I am rooting for you to win it all. You are the most focused, ignore the drama, and have a really great sense of pretty, flirty, colorful, classy style that most women would/could wear. You also seem to learn from what you hear and are asked to do. You listen. That must come from being a good teacher. Wish you all the best!!
