No One is Safe

Daniella is thankful for being giving another chance.

Jul 1, 2009

So getting my cards read should have been a lot more helpful considering how into it I am … but I also tend to overthink and overanalyze everything since I’ve been in this competition. I mean, I totally think I could trust myself more, but my work is such a reflection of my mood and emotions and having felt so anxious and overly pensive about this challenge caused a major disconnect between me and my garments.

I’m actually so grateful to have had more than one second chance on this show because I’ve learned more and been more inspired by my failures than my successes. I never thought this competition would be more than just an exhibition of what we already can do, but it has been such an opportunity to learn about myself and discover all the things that can still excite me about this industry that I have barely investigated. This all just confirms what the psychic told me about embracing my youth and loving what I do more and more as I get older. There is so much to learn and explore and being one of the last five makes me want to be in the finale so much because I am so excited to research and develop all the ideas I’ve imagined while I’ve been here.

I know my outfit wasn’t successful, but having the judges address me gives me some confidence that they believe in me as a designer and expected better because they know I am a good designer. And I know I am too and I have a good eye. I just have to remember what I love so much about this industry and enjoy this last challenge so that I can have the chance to show everything I can do in my collection in the finals.

Anyway, now that Merlin’s gone I really feel like the judges are right — no one is safe. It could be anyone to go or anyone unexpected they would want to see in the finals. I just have to keep my head up and do what I love.

Hi, Daniella. Congratulations on your "staying power." However, I must address the Laura Brown remark to you at the Mini-Challenge. I forgot exactly what it was, but it was snippy and terse. What was the deal? I've watched all the episodes and I don't think that I've seen the faux Meryl Streep character of The Devil Wears Prada in her before. Is that what she is supposed to be in the show? Do you know? I dunno. Geez. Nonetheless, I thought she was rude and it wasn't cute, either.

Hello my favorite Daniella, Yes, you are my favorite because you are the only one who knows how to make beautiful and fresh looking dresses/clothes.

I hope you WIN!

Every time I have a favorite, they WIN, like Ms. Holly in "Make me a Super Model" Season I, she was my favorite and she WONNNNNN.

Now, Daniella you are my favorite of course you are a WINNNNNNER!!!!!

Daniella,

"frankly at this point I could give a **it"?? You better give a **it and start thinking outside the box. Your designs are repeated and tired. This is the season of color and you need to get out of your "comfort zone".

Reco doesn't know the basic's but, he's a risk taker and great desiners don't "play it safe".

James Paul is a true trend setter, his avant-garde styles need fine tuning and to better enhance the female form; once he marries these concepts he will be unbeatable.

Anna knows fashion (too bad she just doesn't wear her own stuff) but her personal style says "i'm not really as old as I look". She's looking for a signature style and when she finds it...

By the way, none of you are qualified to judge anyones work, you would have been smart to learn from the other designers rather than dismiss them with disdain.

hey guys! thank you...youre so sweet. KatWil i was also a little taken aback by the comment Laura made but i think she was trying to be silly rather than snippy. she is lovely and kind in person and i just think she was looking for some sort of reaction to me sleeping in a onesy!!!

Daniella, After all the drama and sniping between you and other contestants, I was surprised and relieved to read your relatively mature and circumspect take on the competition. Self-confidence and talent are vital, but graciousness and humility can be far more valuable. Wishing you the best, JR

Hey Daniella I think you're a wonderful designer. Youre strong and youre confident which is what I thing you need to win, aside from your obvious talent. I'm doing my senior project on Fashion design and all the elements of it and I was wondering if you get the chance because I can see you are busy, if you could answer a few questions for me? Thanks : ) -Elle

Way to go Daniella. I think you are great. I have a good eye too and your work is wonderful!

Good luck to you in all you do.

A Fan

Daniella!!! I am dying to have that hooded scarf you created for your tree hugger look in episode 6 I believe please tell me I can get that somehow!!! I am talking about the episode where you created for the high school cliques. Please someone post something on this, I must have that scarf!!!

Good luck. Just don't anyone re-direct your attention from the goal. Simply remember what is importent. Good luck.

Daniella,

Don't let the judges get to you they are just pushing you to be more creative and use lets of color in your designs. You are truly talented. :]
