Bravotv.com: Did you agree  with what the audience chose for the winning looks?
I agreed with their top choices of Anna and Reco. I liked Reco’s suit a great deal, even though I did not like the blouse underneath, but the curvy edges and rolls of the jacket and the sexy piping on the pants were terrific. But once again, when it works well — this is a season of  color, and the print was beautiful and the dress was a real stretch for Anna — it was a difficult dress to pull off and she did. I have been saying all  season that color is what we need.  So I think the audience did make the right choices.

Bravotv.com: And finally,  without giving anything away, how was the final shoot?
The “final” shoot  was terrific. I think everyone rose to the challenge. It all looked  great; each of the designers really communicated and expressed both verbally and creatively what they were trying to achieve. And as is always the  case … someone disappointed us – and we weren’t expecting that to be the  case.

The audience was fantastic, and it felt like a fashion show that we produce in the tents … with  all the energy, excitement, media, and celebrities.

Bravotv.com: What advice would  you give the eliminated designer to move forward with his/her career?
First and most important would be to check your ego at the door. There is no time or place for it at this stage. We all know enough about everyone to either like or dislike them … so the clothes have to now do the talking. And like they  say, the key to performing at Carnegie Hall or soon for showing at Lincoln  Center is “practice, practice, practice.” Don’t read the press releases, spend time honing your skills, style, and point of view. Twittering will  not bring orders or credibility for a designer.

Bravotv.com: Anything else  you’d like to add?
Make sure you all tell everyone you know, and e-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn or whatever to all your  pals and buddies, tell them to watch these last few episodes and VOTE for the  winner!!! You can be part of fashion history and make a career for a talented  individual. Everyone always has an opinion, and I’ve been reading all the  blogs and comments … so YOUR chance to really tell us what you think and who  deserves to win The Fashion Show is coming up. Stay tuned … and find out  more. There will be a limited number of hours to register your VOTE … but  please do so. I can’t wait to see who America chooses (although I have a  good idea ….)

I love Isaac and Fern! I don't think Merlin should have left at that moment of the show, but I was not aware until recently that his commentary and opinions were the cause of his leaving the show.......this would make sense....you can not badmouth the people that are trying to help further your career.....I think I know who will be the winner....

Dear Fern-
I am a huge fan of the show, and I mean "huge" in both ways. If this show is supposed to be about "real fashion for real people," then how about making the designers create something for large people (or, as I prefer to say, "people of size"). I did notice that a few of the winning outfits were being offered in larger sizes, but HEY! Why not all the outfits, and why not go all the way to 3X? It's hard to be a fashionista when you're a plus size babe!

I'm going to miss Merlin too. What he chose to wear each day was often more interesting than any of the outfits the designers created!

Ugghh! Anna's dress over Reco's pantsuit?!?!? If you think her dress is such a great design, I would like to see you wear it out in public. Please post pictures when you do (although I know you never will wear that dress).

Hello Fern,
You're the icing on the Fashion Show cake. So glad you're on board each week. Your comments are insightful, and your expertise is required to give this new show a 'credibility boost'.

Anna's dress was the OBVIOUS winner last week. I couldn't agree more.

Being a LIBRA, I'm always searching out 'balance'. Therefore, I really liked Reco's design, but had difficulty with his difficult, childish behavior. I'm still thinking the Halston fiasco should have encompassed his last appearance.

What's up with James Paul? Do you think he will still be able to somehow "WOW" us? I really hope he can pull it off. Besides Anna, he is the only hopeful that I see with the potential to pull it off.

Best Regards and Keep up the Good Work, Fern!

i cannot believe you chose anna over rico's look. maybe if she had turned the tulips upside down on the bottom of the dress. NO_ONE would wear that dress whith all that fabric around the waist and buttocks. so many times on the show you and other judges have been critical of a design b/c of the way it would look on women--but her look was not critiqued with this honesty!!!!

Fern, I so disagree with you on Anna's dress. It may be fun and colorful, but unless you are 10 and under, this dress would not look good on anybody. Even the skinnest of person wouldn't want all that material around their butt. Imagine trying to go through the TSA booth at the airport with that dress on. Now I could see wearing it at a Halloween Party. I really loved Reco's design and thought he should have won the challenge. Merline's outfit was colorful like you said and quite cute. Grant it he should have just made the pants straight instead of cut-off at the knees and the jacket was to die for, but it was a hell of a lot better than that boxy looks James Paul created. James Paul should have been gone a long time a go. I don't get the creative design you say James Paul has. Nope, can't see it....

I loved Anna's fun, colorful, flowery, flirty dress. It is young, bright, playful, and perfect for many summer occasions.. dress it up to attend a wedding, dress it down with flats for a picnic, lunch, etc. James Paul's was plain unflattering to any woman/butt!!!.. and Reco's was very cool/stylish, but, Anna's just made me smile and want to wear it for something fun in the summer...and it seemed to fit her psychic reading perfectly.. I did not, however, like the Bravo version for sale. They made it in polka dots and it resembled a "Wonder bread" wrapper. What a shame that they ruined the flowery, red, colorful design that fit the challenge so well.. Merlin's was OK, especially after most of the gaudy past items he designed. He is too flamboyant and his color choices too crazy and trendy for most women/consumers to want to spend their hard earned dollars on. Merlin's designs will come and go too quickly..and, he just doesn't even seem to like women.. let alone design for them. I hope that Reco can focus on his talent and designs rather than running his mouth and criticizing others all of the time. There is a difference between confidence and cockiness. He doesn't need to "tell" us how great he is.. He just needs to keep quiet and show it. His catty remarks will push people away and he may need a friend or two to get through the rest of the competition. Perhaps if he were nicer, Anna wouldn't have given him Halston.. I am sure that any of the other designers would have been much "meaner"/competitive had they had her advantage in picking the designers for the rest in that challenge.. esp, Reco and Merlin...!! They probably would have used that strategy much more to their advantage to sabotage than any of the women would!!! The show is getting better/more interesting each week. The remaining people are all good and it must be getting harder each week for the judges as well.

Fern,
Would I love to wear Reco's outfit--YES!!
Would I ever consider Anna's--NO WAY!!
The judges were wrong again. Nothing ususual there, you seem to have forgotten the people buying are not fashion gurus--we either like it or don't. Anna's little pocket thingys are a don't. As for Merlin's, at least people could wear his and not be embarrased to be seen in it. It was indeed a good idea and done really well. JP's on the other hand-words can not describe how tired I am of the boxy ugly designs--he needs a new concept cause to quote Issac, We just aren't buying it.

I am really surprised at the mean spirited attacks on you and ur job on the show. I really feel you and Issac give it an air of authority. I would love to see more of the two of you.
Good job Fern. I was however really sorry to see Merlin go.

James-Paul's outfit was horrible!! The worst thing all season and there's been some pretty bad stuff. But he stays? I loved Merlin's jacket. The zippered sleeves fit tight or loose--depending if your clothes are bulky. The craftsmanship was impeccable and the yellow color was so fun. I would buy that jacket. Nobody would buy that awful dress thingy.

I am shocked at the attacks against you here. I personally find you fabualous, intellegent and very viewable. Gee what is wrong with folks. I do love Reco alot. His final collection has the most depth. I just cant see how people think it is fixed. Every party needs a pooper I guess.

Hi Fern,

I totally disagree with you this week:

Nobody can wear Anna's dress. It was pretty like a vase, but you can't wear a vase...

Anybody could wear Reco's design, elegant, sexy, comfortable in a cool night in NY...

Nobody can wear James-Paul design, that model has an absolutely beautiful body and she looked like a scarecrow...

Merlin's design was very cute, the colors great. OK the pants were not great but you can pull them up or roll them up and the coat was beautiful.

What did he actually do to get kicked out? It was not the outfit, come on, we are not that gullible.

Johnny's was beautiful, I give it second place...

Daniella's outfit was horrid! Something you see in those $9.99 and up stores in strip malls. We are done with the organza jackets and the cheesy chintzy prints.

@viewer from 1:14pm There are six looks so people won't know who are the finale three before the episodes air. If you could look at only three collections today you'd know who was eliminated in the upcoming episodes before watching them. It also gives designers a chance to show what they can do given the time and money to put together a collection even if it won't be in the final three it'll still be seen by all the people at the show.

Reco should have gone for that red dress and all the judges knew it. At least her outfit wasn't a costume! His looked like a Halloween dress. The judges are trying to keep Reco on the show for some reason and I bet you will make him the winner no matter how bad he designs. The show is fixed.

That pocket dress reminded me of a kithen apron on crack
Ugly. everybody that I know that watched that show wanted Reco"s outfit to win. Maybe the "top designers" are the ones that are out of touch. and Merlins Jacket looked beter than that messy looking outfit of Daniell's. By the way Kudos to the lady from Sax I think everybody gets why

One more viewer who agrees with Mimi389. I realize that I'm a Midwesterner and therefore, invisible to you fashion types, but Reco's outfit inspired me. When I have achieved my fitness goals, I'm going to contact him and see if I can't buy that suit from him directly. I must have it. A printed dress with giant pockets all around the bum? Not so much.

Fern M.,

Your just proof of all the crap that is out there. You have no idea what you are doing anymore. Please step down and let someone else do your job. Its over for you. You have horrible taste. Please give it up and go lounge around in the hamptons with all of your rich friends or something. I have lost all respect for you and Issac.

Why are there 6 Final Shows on the Website...does Merlin get to "come back" what is going on, and why are these being shown already, I do not understand!

Fern I have great respect for your judgment...but Anna's over Reco's ?? I would love to buy Reco's...where on earth would you wear Anna's dress? Besides that ... where are you going to sit?? Not good.
