Haven

The First Day
Today was pretty cool, a new adventure for Haven. Today we found out that our hosts were Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland. They both looked lovely. It was a bit nerve-racking and very tiring. We had to take a basic black t-shirt and re-engineer it into a little black dress. I made a black dress with a cinched waist and turtle neck. It could have been better but Laura from Harper's Bazzar said that it was chic, young, and Lower East Side. Alright, I guess. Isaac said it was well proportioned, so that was nice. Johnny R. was the winner! His design was perfect! I want to own that dress. He chose Reco (who is also from Chatanooga TN, my home town!!!), Markus, Laura, and myself to be on his team. I was so glad to be on that team. I love them already! My favorite person here is Markus. He is my new best friend and so attractive. We also moved into our suites tonight. My roommates are great, I’m enjoying my time so far. Tomorrow I will continue working on the new group challenge. So far, so good.

The First Elimination
Merlin is f--king crazy!!! My roommates and I are completely uncomfortable around him. He is deluded. Today was so stressful. I wasn’t happy with my design and thought that I might be going home. Turns out, I was safe. Sadly, Jonny Day went home. Elimination was interesting. Merlin once again was over-the-top and scary. I was so excited to see that Fern Mallis and Elie Tahari were the guest judges. Johnny D. and Kristin were on the chopping block. Jonny went home. We had a few (or more) beers in the suite after a long day. We were having such a great time until we (my roommates and I) got into an argument with Merlin. Still waiting to be resolved. Tomorrow is our photo shoot!

P.S. Markus painted my nails and warmed me up a cookie before bed
P.S.S. I want vodka, seriously

I think you have a wonderful chance of taking this to the end Ms. Haven. I believe in you and know you have the big brass balls to handle it. As for ED, eat an apple you old horse. Merlin is crazy- as for growing up.....Merlin should take that in to consideration himself- Spaz-Mo-D for sure-

Haven - you got this girl!! Don't sweat it- Hometown is rooting for ya babe!!

Double Vodka Tonic with Extra lime just for you.....

I love that people are giving you advice about Merlin when they only saw bits and pieces of him over an hour's time. You spent two days with him...living in the same house, working in the same place.

We can have NO idea what really goes on beyond what gets aired.

it's clear that while Merlin may have some talent and considering he is the oldest one there, that's not surprising, he has some major issues.

I think it's sad that he has his friends posting to the blogs here making excuses for his behavior. Be real friends and call him on his messed up behavior.

Merlin seems to, already, intend to use attention-seeking intimidation as his strategy to get noticed and distract the others. Ignoring people like him is the best way to get him out of your hair (and face). He obviously wants to be the drama queen and get all of the camera time. Let him waste his energy on that while the rest of you focus on making great clothes. He'll just ostracize himself from the rest and when he needs support, no one will be there for him.

I dont even remember you, and still dont know your name...the only reason I am making a post on your blog is because of what you say about Merlin...yes, he is over - the - top...but, that's why he is 'Merlin'...duh! You little girls just need to grow up...Merlin is not the one you should be 'scared' of. At least with him, you know what you get up - front...just wait as the competition goes on...the claws, fangs, and back-stabbing sharks are going to surface, and it will be who you least expected.

Merlin IS crazy. His attitude - not to mention the way he dresses himself - is completely distracting and I find him to be demeaning. Merlin's work is good, but his behavior will catch up with him soon enough.

Hang in there. I'll have some vodka on your behalf. Best of luck in future competitions. (o:

I think you have to give Merlin more of a chance. Just by seeing him its obvious he's creative and has a unique point of view. Not only was it unfair to make the first competion a team effort with strangers, but to have someone like Merlin forced to take the reins and lead a group was also double stressful for him. He needs to shine on his own for a bit before being in a group effort. In fact it would have been better for everyone to start off on their own.
