This week began with a Fashion History Mini Challenge. Even though I thought I would do well in this challenge, it turns out I was eliminated first. It was a question about Pucci, a designer I’m sad to say I know very little about. I was a little annoyed because I knew almost every question asked after that. Whatev.
Anna, who I love dearly, won and I was happy for her. Her prize was to pair each contestant with one of the seven iconic designers — Halston/Reco, Gianni/Johnny, Haven/YSL (I was thrilled!), Dior/Daniella, Pucci/James Paul, Madam Gres/Merlin and Chanel/Anna. It was a match made in heaven, so I thought.
Immediately after picking my fabric I began to second-guess myself and wished I would have gone for black, green, and white instead of Brunnard fuschia. I wanted to do a women’s day-suit to reflect upon the women’s suits YSL made in the past, paying homage specifically to the le smoking tuxedo jacket that inspires almost everything I wear and design. Looking back I would have done a lot of things differently starting with color choice. At elimination the judges asked me why I didn’t do shorts, ie bermuda shorts, but after so much scrutiny over my shorts addiction I guess I was a bit apprehensive.
If I had it to do all over again I would have made my signature outfit with inspirations of YSL-boxy blazer in a bright color with high-waisted short shorts. Oh well, lesson learned — I was eliminated. It was sad to say goodbye to my fellow designers who I’ve fallen in love with, but I know I will see them again soon. As far as Fern, Isaac, and Kelly go: love them and appreciate all their advice. What a lovely experience!
Good Heavens Haven! I hate to see you go!!! I think you are a beautiful, tasteful designer with a beautiful face and more tact and humanity than I've seen in a long time. I always looked forward to see what you would be wearing and you never disappointed. I'll be looking for your designs in the future. The very best of luck to you!

The judges did not want you to design a knockoff. They wanted you to put your own spin on the designers style so you did. The different color was how I thought you added your own twist to it. So I don't understand the judges decision. Anyway, Reco lost that challenge but the judges wanted to keep in on the show so they made it sound like yours was the worst of the two. But 90% of the people said they would not buy his Halloween costume dress. I really believe the winner of this show has been predetermined. It's fixed. They're not going to tell you that but They will do anything to keep Reco on the show. Any cheat. The show is for entertainment only.
Enjoyed your work. I think the way your mind works is very interesting. I also think your considerably hot. You definitely pull in my attention when I'm watching the show. When the camera shows all of you my eyes keep going from your face, to your legs, back to your face and starting the whole thing over again. I hope you're life goes awesome.
Haven I think you did a great job on that Yves Saint Laurent outfit. I think The Fashion Show does a poor job of recognizing talent and understanding sophisticated style. Even the judges have no style of their own, especially Kelly Rowland with her tacky ghetto shoes and wannabe classy clothes.
Haven, thanks for having a lot more class, and grace, than most of the people on Reality TV (including, I'm sorry to say, many of your fellow castmates).
I watch Bravo every morning from 8:00 - 10:00. I am a fan of the West Wing. It's very frustrating to have have the volume levels go from extremely faint to too loud. Can someone talk to the audio department? This is no way to air a program nor run a television station. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven,
First, you are so goregous to me! I love your look. I hate to have seen yo go. I wish someone else was on the chopping block other than you and Reco!!!!!! You are a great woman and I know we will see you soon! I am not just saying that either! You are awesome!
I feel bad that you made such a minimal mistake and had to leave. Reco was very lucky. Angel went home for not knowing what a silly high school cliques stereotypically wore!! (B-Girl). I think knowing about famous designers (when your goal IS to BECOME a designer) is more important then knowing silly street clothes/clique styles.. I also think they really forgot/minimalized the part or the challenge which required that you put your own spin on it (your color choice, etc.)Well, best wishes to you. You have talent..
We will miss you. You were kind to your colleagues and held your own with the "whining" men (you know which ones I mean..ha-ha). You are a strong lady and talented. You may love hairspray, but, you are no bimbo "Barbie", foo foo woman.. You will go far with your talent and we wish you much success and happiness.. Just get a good seamstress and forget the sewing details!! ha-ha.. Your designs and mind will create the rest..
Hi Haven,
I never wrote to you before because I was not into your style, I lived the 80's very intensely and had "been there done that".
I thought you were a "plastic" girl but at the end I really liked you, you showed more class than anybody in the show and you let us see what you really are: a bright designer who is compassionate and fair. You are as beautiful inside as you are outside, "Barbie" (You also have the best hair).
The best luck to you in the future, you will go far.
I love this show! I think you showed a lot of character this week during the elimination by not attacking Reco and really it seemed that you had completed your mission. Please don't stop. You're really good. If you all had people to sew for you, you would have done much better I think.
You are a sweetheart. You were so kind and comforting to Reco. We will miss you. Wish you all of the best in your career. You have talent. This show was JUST the beginning.. You are a talented and nice person. Best Wishes to you for a wonderful future. It was admirable as to how you handled your departure with such grace and dignity.
Haven I think you and Reco both deserved to go further in this competition. I liked your attitude and fashion.
Hey girl! Sorry you had to go, I really liked seeing your 80's spin on fashion, I was born in 82 but somehome I remember the 80's so well. Good Luck in your career.
Wow, what a gracious person you are. I wish you much success and many blessings. Your sacrifice will be rewarded in the end.
Reco said that you took the fall for him in front of the judges. That was the most mature behavior anyone has shown during this show -- except it wasn't shown to us viewers. Grr. Anyway, I commend you for being so kind and wish you all the best in your future.
Dear Haven, You were such a nice person, an absolute doll, on tonight's show. Seems so unfair
for a genuine human being to leave some of the sneerers behind.
You managed to understand where Reco's sometimes unconscious lack of confidence comes from. But you also saw his talent, and his need for a pal as the jackals came in for the kill.
You deserve a reward all your own for graciousness, modesty (don't sell yourself short), and to use a really dated term, being a lady.
Very Impressive
You are a beautiful and talented designer who also has a good heart. I sincerely wish you to have a bright and wonderful future!
Haven,
You have a great attitude and are honest about your successes and your failures. Good luck in your future endeavors!
