Let’s analyze the must-have piece, because after all, that’s what this challenge was about.
Group 1 – Harem Pants.
Harem pants? I don’t know anyone who owns them and wears them, let alone considers them a must have. My apologies, but thumbs down.
Group 2 – The Bolero Jacket
Smart, but way too safe. Besides, I’m pretty sure everyone already has a bolero in their closet. I have like six!
Group 3 – The Tube Dress
Brilliant idea! A must-have piece should embody a few things: it should be classic, not too trendy, and it should be able to be worn in 12 outfits without ever looking the same. In theory, this is the strongest must-have piece.
So how in the world did my brilliant idea land me in the bottom two? The obvious reason is execution. (Like I said!) According to Isaac, it seems as if I don’t know who I am as a designer, and he was weirded out by my styling choice of black tights and white shoes. (I told you I had no idea what they would think!) In my defense, I wear and design that kinda quirky thing all the time. Besides, I’m 23 man! I’m still figuring out who I am as designer. And as far as the audience thinking my look was trashy … I don’t care. Anyone who knows me and my work would never use that word.
So I guess I haven’t won over any new fans, but I know I didn’t do the worst in this group. Elimination is completely nerve-rracking though, so I’m trying to keep my cool. And phew! The judges save me! Good choice guys.
It’s been a long day and there’s only one thing left to do: pick out my outfit for tomorrow. I’m thinking black tights and white shoes....
Rock On,
Kristin
My mom and I friken loved your outfit and could definately see it in stores. It was very depressing to see it in the bottom two, but I'm glad that other guy went instead of you.
Kristin, I think you rock! You're totally my favorite on the show, even if I'm not even done with the first episode. Keep up the good work, no matter where your designing takes you!
I actually do think your design was good. I know a lot of my friends would wear that (if we could pull it off). I think maybe the tights and shoes threw them off, but I liked the direction you were going! keep up the good work! ~ forloveprincess.blogspot.com
Kristin,
I think you are adorable and so honest!!! I love it and will be rooting for you! I also googled your line and love it!!
Jessica R.
Do not be so hard on your self I loved your outfit maybe because I have a 19 year old who wears white heels that feel not right to me all the time dont use being 23 against ur self Christian was younger use that youthful age an advantage keep ur chin up I actually thought the pencil skirt the best idea HAREM PANTS NOW WHAT ARE THEY THINKING???
Yes Kristin! You kept your cool! Thumbs up! You did your job! Your right Keith didn't lead, I was extremely upset when one of the designers said that he wasn't sure if a person like you should be in the business. AHH What!!! Harem or Halrem pants! Are your serious! Has he not looked at your website, to me that comment was "oh she is 23 doesn't need the money and does this for a hobby." No sorry I do this because this is my love and passion! Not you or anyone else will stop me! Just because I have money in my bank account doesn't mean this is a hobby. You did well, heck of a lot better than most of these people, and did on the fly! Great job! At least they made the right choice and sent the right one home!
I actually thought your outfit was really cute when it went out on the runway. Definitely young and sassy and now. Don't let this sway your confidence so early in the game. You've got way more talent than some of those bitches!
Your ensemble was cute, but it has been around for quite a while. I saw that look in boutiques 6 years ago.
I just finished watching the first episode and yours was one of my favorites! I am not sure if Issac has been on the west coast lately, but your still would totally rock over here on our college campus!
obviously the judges don't know what's in style. your outfit was amazing! i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to wear it. it was my favorite BY FAR. it was so cute and just perfect. great job. i'm rooting for you!
In my humble opinion? WHITE shoes are ugly ..have always been..always will be... They draw the eye down and away from everything else a person wears... No one's feet ever looked good in white shoes... When I saw your outfit, I liked it.. and you.. When I saw the white shoes? Ugh!! It totally distracted from the rest...
Keep going Kristin, Very creative and very wearable. I really don't know what the judges or the audience were thinking. Like the "harem pants" were more wearable or saleable then your outfit. Keep up the good work!!!
Kristin, great work! I don't know what the judges were thinking. Your outfit was adorable. I'm sure your parents are proud of you. Keep going with the good work. You're right, where DID they find these people.
Keep your chin up, ditch the white shoes next time, and hoping that You and the real GIRLS will kick Merlin's flamboyant/"flamingly" "fugly" butt!!
As a fellow Kristin (that spells it with an I as well...it's so annoying when people spell it with an E), I'm rooting for you. You are by far the sweetest, most humble person there and i believe that on that alone a person should win something. I found your line online and am impressed. I will be watching just for you. Go Girl
I'm truly sorry that you left. I think that this was an something that you could have learned from. Think of all the talent that you had around you. If you think that the real world is going to be different from this I'm afraid you might be disappointed. Real, everyday people can be harder to please than these judges.

I have to say the judges were way off!!!! Your outfit was one of the very few that I saw tonight which I wanted to wear. I loved the white flowing shirt vest and skirt. My only problem was you could barely see the "must have" item. But honestly I think the idea was so much better then the other designers.
