Jonny describes 'The Fashion Show's' first challenge and another side of Merlin.

The time has finally come!!! The meeting of all my competitors!!! I was wondering how I was going to react??? But as I walked off the elevator and took that right into the work room I was greeted with open arms. The most memorable person was in half drag, red body suit, white boots and a red hat with a three foot peasant tailored feather pinned on the side with an acrylic broach. LOL. MERLIN!!! He was super-cool. I could tell he was humble and possibly could teach me a lot.
As the others slowly arrived the atmosphere was still pleasing. Personally it was kind of odd that we all actually can’t hang but … this is only the beginning.
Suddenly Ms. Kelly Rowland and Isaac Mizrahi walked through the door, I thought to myself, "Wow, not a model???" But she was hot and kept the energy up. Ohh … don’t let me forget about our extra fab host Isaac. I have found new respect for his sense of humor.
Anyways …the first mini-challenge we have to make a lil black dress. What the hell. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. I made the most hoochie mamaish dress in the world. But I was going for a more early Destiny’s Child’s look because of Ms. Rowland.
The First Elimination
Going into elimination, I felt confident in not going home but I didn’t feel the same way about my team memebers … low and behold we were safe and our response was laughter. It was funny but not. My team was wonderful. I think we worked well together. It was hard to see Jonny Day go home. I saw where he was going with his pieces but at the end of the day it is a competition. Kristin was in the bottom two with Jonny Day for elimination. On the way back to the hotel she was crying about the audience's comments and I told her ”You’ll get a lot of horrible comments in this business and when you get to my age you’ll develop thick skin." Keeping my eye on the prize.
Honestly I think if I saw Kelly Rowland I would feel the same as I do now... What the hell is she doing there! While in Destiny's Child she was never a stand out for her own fashion sense or style. And so far on the show how little she really adds to it. I think I wouldn't mind seeing her eliminated next. Sorry Kelly still think you got an amazing voice but best to stick in an area your good in.
However I have a feeling Jonny is going to be one of the last ppl standing!
Okay, I think it's weird that they somehow put Jonny's name on RECO's BLOG!! Hi Reco, it's one of your former TSU classmates (Keisha Tipton-BSCE '01) and I think you are doing great! I am glad that you changed your major, because the designs that I saw on your MySpace page were really nice! I am out in L.A., but I need to know how to take a look at your fashion designs on the west coast. Is there another site or a lookbook that I can view? Let me know! Good luck on the show and I can't wait to keep watching!

I am rooting for ya dude...by the way, I saw next week's previews of the show...I spit on the fact that Daniel called you a 'Boy'...oops I meant daneilla...she so butch you know, I got confused. Dont get caught up in those kids foolishness, especially one who is apparently racist and Narcissistic. Do your thing, I want to see you in the finals. Take Care!
I think Rico is too conceited. He continually rolls his eyes as designers are stroked positively. He could be a little more supportive and happy for his fellow designers, especially it being the first day and not knowing each other very well.

You need to lighten up and get over yourself! Quit whining to the judges and design something or go home.
Hope the competition puts you into a better mindset and less cocky. You seemed too loud and confident in your cameo comments. Maybe the first competition will humble you a little. No one wants to hear how great you are.. Just "SHOW" it with your talent. Merlin will self-destruct with his cocky self-absorbed attitude/bizarre attention-seeking behavior and dress to try to intimidate others..as, he lacks the true talent to get attention from his Work.. he needs to "scream/dress/show" himself in other ways. Ignore him and show your stuff on the runway..instead of "running your mouth".. Bragging does nothing but make one look like a low self-esteem person.. The "quiet ones" put their energy into their work and come out better in the end.. and with their colleagues/coworkers. No one wants to work with the loud/cocky bragger... Stay Cool...

I agree with tallness....i like kelly but sitting front row at fashion shows do not qualify her for judging something so critical and if she is there to be voice of the common people then let it be known, cause we are thinking WHY IS SHE THERE
When I first saw you I was excited! The style of clothes you bring is exactly my style. I loved what you did with the harem pants and I hope you go far in this competition. One day I will be able to afford your work!
Loved you first runway look! Merlin is really something else. He may be talented by he is ubberly annoying. You on the other hand, are the bizness!
reco, i like your style... your so lucky to be on a show where you can show case your fashion design talent.the dress you made was hot!..you say you design for strippers now take that design and make into classy and elegant pieces for a runway that would be fabulous.its all about fabulosity and glamulosity.now go get that money, good luck

RICO LINES OF CLOTHES WAS AWESOMES. I WILL PURCHASE 95% OF HIS DESIGNS. I LOVED THE RED DRESS, FEATHER DRESS, BLACK SKIRT AND TOP. I AM AMAZED THAT HE DID NOT WIN. HE SHOULD CONTINUE TO PURSUE HIS DREAM IT WILL COME TO PASS. MANY CONSUMERS LOVED HIS DESIGNS. RICO KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORKS.
