Buckingham Palace has publicly posted dreamy-sounding jobs before — even for chefs. But that last kitchen position didn't pay very well — whereas the palace's newest job posting is very senior, and with a highly distinguished title, "competitive" pay — and perks of a lifetime.

Buckingham Palace is currently seeking a Sous Chef to join "an accomplished team, you’ll work hands-on with your colleagues to deliver food to the highest standards."
The posting explains that the person in the role will, "
plan and develop menu items for a wide range of events," as well as help to manage stock levels.

Alongside the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will play "an integral part in the day-to-day running of our operations," helping to lead and manage the entire team.

The person in the role can also expect to receive training: "In an environment where development and training is commonplace, you'll be supported to grow within your role, developing both your managerial and technical cookery skills."

However, candidates will already need to "have a thorough knowledge of the food industry and are trained in classical French cuisine, and you'll be confident planning and developing menus for a wide range of occasions, including volume catering.

And, "strong leadership skills will be absolutely vital."

In addition to the bragging rights — and resume builder — of a lifetime, you'll also get "a comprehensive benefits package," including 33 vacation days, a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme, and meals on duty.

But here's the best part of all:

The role also offers the option to "live in." To refresh, that's live. in. Buckingham Palace.

A more tolerable place than most, you might say, to snooze the alarm a couple times each morning before getting up for work.
