Each year Glassdoor compiles its list of Best Places to Work: Employee's Choice. On it, you'll find mega start-ups like Facebook — which ranks No. 1 — and popular brands. However, pay attention and you might just find some interesting information hidden within the ranks. Most notably for 2018's list? The fact that In-N-Out Burger employees are happier than Google employees. Seriously.
Narrowly beat by Facebook, Bain & Company, and Boston Consulting Company, In-N-Out Burger, boasting a 4.6 rating and nearly 1,000 reviews, takes the fourth place spot on Glassdoor's 100-company list. Google trails behind the popular West Coast-based burger joint in fifth place.
What makes In-N-Out better than a billion-dollar tech corportation? Many employees from its locations across six states (Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah) cite flexible schedules and excellent benefits for part-time associates including PTO, dental, and vision insurance — plus, you know, the opportunity to hand-craft the beloved menu.
Considering the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has an affinity for fast food, maybe this news will convert his burger loyalties from golden arches to "quality you can taste." (That's In-N-Out's slogan FYI.)
Thankfully, In-N-Out is going to be hiring plenty more happy employees, as the chain recently announced a 50-store expansion into Colorado, Tasting Table reports. Animal style for all!
