Kelly Clarkson Opens Up About Her Major Weight Loss: "How We Cook Our Food" Is Just Part of It

Mama and singer Kelly Clarkson explains there's a lot behind her recent transformation.

If you're looking for the secret behind Kelly Clarkson's recent weight loss, you won't find it at the gym. "I’m not working out! I think people think I’m working out and I’m like, ‘Don’t think I’m going to come play some sport,’” the singer told Extra. “Literally, I haven’t worked out at all!”

So, what has she done to shed very noticeable pounds? Well first of all, she's eating organic, avoiding genetically modified ingredients, and overall has changed her approach to cooking.

As it turns out, the transformation has roots back to a particular book, too.

In order to treat her own health issues, Clarkson picked up a copy of The Plant Paradox by cardiac surgeon Steven R. Gundry. And she claims the author's approach to cooking and eating stabilized her thyroid issue, which allowed for weight loss — without pills.

“I literally read this book, and I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had and I had a thyroid issue, and now all my levels are back up. I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book," she told Extra. "It’s basically about how we cook our food, non-GMO, no pesticides, eating really organic."
