Robin on her date in Season 4
Bravotv.com: What was the reaction like after the show aired? Did you have a lot of folks approaching you after the show?
The reaction after the show was crazy. I get stopped on the street 20 times a day. I have people following me around Bloomingdale's. I walk into a packed restaurant and they clear the best table in the house for me. Viewers come up to me and start screaming my name and want to take pictures with me. People keep asking me when my new song "Fantasy" will be out. It's droppin' on iTunes in 2 days and is on CD Baby right now.
Bravotv.com: Were you surprised at how much people seemed drawn to your date/story?
I was very surprised at how many people seemed drawn to me. I think the reason I resonated with so many people is that I am unafraid to be myself. There are so many people out there who are ashamed of who they are. They feel like they need to get extreme plastic surgery and need to act phony to impress people. To see me running Haute PR, Facebook's most popular public relations firm, living in a pink apartment, and loving myself for who I am, was refreshing for people.
I think people realized from seeing me on TV that you can be yourself, forge your own path, and have an amazing life. You don't to change who you are to be attractive and successful. Audrey Hebpurn said, "Happy girls are the prettiest girls." My message for viewers is: be yourself because you are beautiful!
I'm so touched by all of the people who've reached out to me who told me that seeing me on TV changed their lives. I had a fan from Australia move to New York to be near me. I inspired a fan to quit her dead-end job and go to fashion school. I inspired a guy to paint his apartment pink. My confident, fun attitude inspired people to be their best and live their dreams.
