Chivalry Is Alive And Well

Brian explains the difference between a playboy and a player and gives us an update on his relationship with Debra.

Clichés are often true. . .but the moral of Episode 2 is most certainly "Don't judge a book by its cover." In today's society we often hear that "Chivalry is dead." NOT! So the guy most likely assumed to be the antithesis of a traditional "gentlemen" proved the world and The Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger wrong. How cool is that?

But seriously, I loved working with Patti, Destin, and Rachel and all of the staff and crew. They are awesome and sincerely helped me. This was an amazing experience and a lot of fun and of course, I found a beautiful, smart, amazing girl in Debra.

I'm proud to be called a gentleman! I'm glad that my mother who taught me to respect women can be proud of the son she raised. A true gentleman is not only a gentleman to the woman that he is mating, dating, or courting. A true gentleman will hold open a door for any woman. He will carry groceries for an old lady too. Is that so unbelievable?

The Merriam Webster dictionary defines a playboy as: a man who lives a life devoted chiefly to the pursuit of pleasure.

I was billed as a "playboy," "a Hugh Hefner-type," and "Hugh Hefner wanna be." That's fine with me. Frankly it's an honor to be compared to Hugh Hefner, the world's most famous playboy -- who is also a great American entrepreneur. More importantly he is a wonderful philanthropist and has also made tremendous contributions to the progress of the rights of women, homosexuals and African Americans, as well as an overall healthier attitude towards sex in American society. He also saved the Hollywood Sign! So yeah. . .I "wanna be" like Hugh Hefner for all of those reasons.

One thing I must make clear that Patti did not realize is that the best playboys are in fact gentleman and there is a serious difference between a "playboy" and a "player." A playboy genuinely likes women, as do I. A true playboy is actually a gentleman. A real playboy is not a misogynist or a chauvinist. He can have platonic friendships with many women and have sex with others who find him attractive without ever intentionally hurting anybody. Just because a man is surrounded by beautiful women doesn't mean he cannot fall into deep committed (and often obsessive) true love with someone special and be monogamous.

I said I had not been on a date (a "real date") in over 10 years and this is probably true depending on how you actually define a "date." I obviously spend a lot of time with women and love making them laugh. Of course I have taken girls on romantic dinners, vacations, etc., but sex was usually already "past tense." LOL. I'm a workaholic! Quite often there has not been time for traditional courtship. Real proper dating takes a lot of time but if it's important to you then you will do it the right way. Old school, traditional style!

I was judged incorrectly because of my line of work and this is certainly not the first time. I'm used to it! I finally got the chance to prove those who pre-judge me based on my business wrong. Now you know me a bit better. Bench Warmer is my passion! I am a lifelong entrepreneur who has "bootstrapped" since the age of 16 when I first started buying and selling baseball cards. I have invested all of my time and money into Bench Warmer with a ginormous opportunity cost. I absolutely love what I'm doing with my life. I'm a self-made middle class kid from New York who dreamed a dream and turned his childhood hobby into a fun exciting business.

Rachel said "Ew" but let me explain that there is nothing at all "Ew" about it. There is no nudity or overtly sexual content in any Bench Warmer products. The photographs are sexy, yet tasteful, and I pride myself on the quality of our content and the Bench Warmer models respect me for it and love being a part of this. We created a real collectible from scratch with a loyal core audience of thousands of collectors and an active secondary market. I am also very proud of our charity efforts with Toys for Tots and Children of the Night. Since 2006, Bench Warmer has raised over 5,000 toys for needy children through our annual Holiday Toy drive. The best playboys also care about philanthropy and want to give back!

I love how Patti called the Bench Warmer girls "goddesses." I'm not so thrilled with the term "floozy" and would defend that broad generalized stereotype by providing specific examples of gorgeous "LA 10" girls who absolutely defy the term "floozies" but that's a whole different blog. I respect Patti for admitting she was wrong about me, that's rare these days. She is tough but also fair which I also respect about anybody I work with. She did a great job. Oh and she looked really good too! Thanks to Destin, a straight up guy who believed in the "real Brian."

To any other people considering appearing on this show I highly recommend it. I only have one way to sum it upfor you if you are nervous.

These people are all very fair. Yes, cameras are rolling, of course, but it's up to you how you behave.

Lastly, Debra is a beautiful and classy girl. We are having a lot of fun together. That's all you need to know.

Thank you for watching!

Making a Match: Brooklyn Chooses Sizzle vs. Substance

Patti dishes on what it was like working with Thicker Than Water Brooklyn Tankard and getting a New York player to start take matchmaking seriously.

Season 8 of The Millionaire Matchmaker is one of the most dramatic ever. This time around, Patti Stanger is helping plenty of unlikely clients find love, from RHOA’s Kenya Moore and Sheree Whitfield to rap royalty Romeo Miller.

Each week, we're asking Patti to weigh in on every episode in her exclusive vlog. She'll tackle the good (Brooklyn on French kissing), the bad (Amit’s beard)—and the hilarious (Patti’s New York accent!).

This week, she talks about setting up Thicker Than Water's Brooklyn Tankard and teaching this Long Island divorcee to stop looking for love at the clubs. Check out the latest episode vlog below and watch past episodes here.

Brooklyn Tankard the star of Thicker Than Water is up this week. Brooklyn is pretty funny and exciting, she’s a little bit off though. She’s basically a single mom with a daughter and you know she doesn’t get to meet quality men, she really hasn’t found her equal.

My other client this week is liquor entrepreneur Amit Ram, he’s from Long Island. He’s got this awful f---ing beard on his face. Girls in the clubs like his beard, yeah, yeah in 1959 they do, not in 2015.

For those two we chose to do a Hot Seat Mixer. That means Brooklyn and Amit interview potential dates and if they don’t like someone they can kick them out of the hot seat, but if they like them, they get to stay. So it’s kind of like musical chairs.

Brooklyn goes through a bunch of guys and some of them are really awesome. I personally love Jason, he’s tall, he’s older, he’s been divorced, he has kids, he’s a very solid guy. But Brooklyn’s got her eye on Michael who's a bit younger, really hot, super sexy, has sort of a football player look -- and she can’t take her eyes off of him. Instead of going for the substance she’s going for the sizzle.

Meanwhile, Amit chose a great little petite girl named Daniella, she’s also a gym rat like him, they have a lot in common. He’s taken her on an interesting date, free-running training, you know when run and when you jump and you climb, it’s kind of extreme dating. They’re both pretty bad at it, but they love working out so they have a really great time. Then he takes her to a nice dinner at a classy place, Miceli’s.

I just hope Brooklyn took some of my lessons with her back to Nashville, because she needs a lot of work.

Brooklyn had a really nice date with Michael, they went peddle boating. But Michael didn’t ask much about Brooklyn, and this didn’t really work out for her because she likes to be the center of attention. So I don’t think that she chose well. I think it should’ve been Jason, which is the one I wanted her to go out with all along. I just hope she took some of my lessons with her back to Nashville because she needs a lot of work. I bet she'll be back again next time.
