The Day After

Hear from Rodger about the Byron & Tracey opening, Taylor's last-minute ditch, and The Zoe Report.

By Rodger Berman

After the pressure of award season dies down, the team starts to get back to the normal day to day business of styling. Taylor even starts to smile a bit and get along with Brad, although that’s short lived.

How to Watch

Catch up on The Rachel Zoe Project on the Bravo App.

Much of the episode includes the Bryon and Tracey salon opening event. The entire team goes to and supports Bryon and Tracey and they are really part of our extended family. This is actually the second salon, the first was a small studio that Bryon owned on Robertson Boulevard.

Rachel actually introduced Bryon to Tracey when he moved to the larger space and urged the two of them to partner in what became the Byron and Tracey Salon. Because of the closeness we feel with them and the salon, Rachel was really disappointed that Taylor (the "Baylor") didn’t show up. So typical Taylor, she says she doesn’t like being in social situations but she always seems to go out at night. Reality is she has to create drama out of the most "normal" situations. It’s very frustrating.

The episode also highlights the fact that Rachel is more and more in the public eye, and not everything they say about her is flattering. I believe that as long as they are talking about her, it means she’s doing something right, but the negative stuff obviously hurts especially when you can’t tell your side of the story. That’s one of the reasons why I decided to really get involved in Rachel’s business, especially on the digital side which I know pretty well. The proliferation of social networks have made it possible for anyone, especially those in the public eye, to talk directly to the world without the lens of the media. It’s very powerful and I knew once Rachel was introduced to it, she would be hooked. You can now find Rachel on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter answering questions, dispensing fashion advice and interacting with a pretty big audience. The digital footprint has recently expanded with the launch of www.rachelzoe.com and the introduction of The Zoe Report, Rachel’s free daily newsletter that dispenses fashion trends and product advice. It’s a lot of work but also very rewarding as everyone’s really responded positively and enjoys our digital efforts.

Last thing. How hot did my wife look in that Marie Claire photo shoot? My favorite look was the boho chic number – I think that’s the same dress that Brad said looked like Granny’s?
