Brad Goreski reveals what you didn't see about the Milan trip, Ashley, and Johnny Weir!
Sep 3, 2010Milan Fashion Week was amazing! We saw many shows, some of which were not shown on the episodes--Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, Dsquared2 ... which were all incredible. I LOVED the Dsquared2 show. it was a majorly theatrical experience and such a treat to finally see one of my favorite designer's show live. The overall experience of being there with Rachel, looking for gowns (and of course having some fun) was great and thank GOD we found the amazing Pucci gown at the Pucci show. We also had luck at Alberta Ferretti --there were a couple of really beautiful gowns in that show that Rachel wanted to get as well. We felt leaving Milan that our mission had been accomplished and that the trip was a success.
The trip would not have been possible for me had it not been for Jordan and Ashley back home in L.A. The two of them had so much on their plates and were extremely busy: the main job we had going on was Anne Hathaway's press and premiere for Alice in Wonderland. Ashley was doing an amazing job. She has a really good eye for what is chic and cool and is also a really dedicated and hard worker. She was waking up at 2 a.m. every night to have conversations with Rachel about the status of the Oscar gowns coming into the studio, as well as the other jobs that were going on in Los Angeles. She really did just jump right in and was willing to do anything to get the job done. If she said something was going to be in the studio or that she was on top of something, I never ever had to follow up with her. I knew it would be there.
When Ashley was initially hired, she was hired on a temporary basis through the Oscars because we wanted to see if we actually needed three assistants or not. Jordan was a junior assistant at the time Taylor was fired, and we weren't sure if she was going to be able to handle all of the responsibilities that were going to be thrown her way, so we brought in Ashley as well to help with that. When Ashley got sick over the Oscars she was REALLY REALLY ill and we decided to have her stay home because with such a busy weekend coming up we did not want to have other people getting sick. Ashley was still on Blackberry, following up with designers, etc. She was really dedicated! She even came in to the studio while we were fitting Johnny Weir because Roberto Cavalli had called her to tell her that there were some gowns ready for pick-up. At this point, we told her to go back to bed and rest up so that if she was feeling better; she could be with us on the day of the Oscars. I called Ashley on the day of the Oscars and she was still really sick. I felt horrible because I knew what a disappointment this was to her. By this time she had been off for three days and had missed all of the fittings.
You yet again knocked it out of the park!!!! Love love loved seeing Johnny! You and Rachel rock!!
Hi Brad, I have got to tell you that I lOVE FASHION! I purposefully did not watch the 1st season of Rachel Zoe because I didn't want to get addicted to another show about fashion. However, I watched the show when you guys were at the Orscar De La Renta Show, and I was hooked. OH MY GOD, the clothes were so beautiful. I'm so jealous you got to see a Dsquared2 show live. Love it, love it, love it!
I'm sorry to Ashley go! She really looked like a great addition, but if there is nothing for her to do then the best thing is to cut her loose and find work elsewhere. Johnny!!! O M G!
LOVE THE SHOW! I love everything rachel wears and brad, would love to find the sweater that is long in the front and short in the back. LOVE IT! Any ways i could find it, with a limited budget, please let me know. Keep the show going, i am addicted to it. Ps: love Rodger too!! hang in there we are all hoping rachel gets pregnant and you would make such beautiful babies.

I LOVE this show. I am a loyal fan of Regis and Kelly. Rachel was on their show earlier this year. Kelly does a Fashion Finder on the show’s website each day. Rachel was on it. I was hooked from there. I bought all the previous seasons on iTunes and enjoyed them all. I am so happy to read your full report on Ashley. It appeared on last night's show that you guys fired her because she was sick. T.V. likes drama for ratings and I figured that you guys would not do that to her. I am glad that my suspicions were verified. I wish there were more episodes. I am addicted to fashion and just live vicariously through the show. Hey Brad Just wanted to tell you how glad I am that you are still with Rachel I never ever cared for taylor. She complained so much all the time she was worse than a 2 year old toddler. She B*tched Gripped and moaned Enough was enough OH and she was MEAN !!!! She treated you like crap and you were doing a great job. I think you are exactly what Rachel Zoe needs you seem to have great karma and your sweet and Loyal you and rach are a perfect fit. Love the show & love you guys....

Well I really thought that without Taylor the drama would be less severe but really, did you have to say "fired" when you spoke to Ashley when she was sick? Please tell me it was the editing and not you being an insensitive jackass. I see from your blog that Ashley was only temporary and that she now has another job, but to say "fired" on the phone is the height of unprofessionalism .. it sounds like something Taylor would do ... are you channeling her now? Please stop it.
Also, I just don't get how you and Rachel can think that if you don't find dresses for two clients that they will go the event naked. Do you really expect me to believe they don't have a thing to wear in their huge walk-in closets? Really ... remember Sharon Stone? I'm sure those two ladies have ample clothes they can wear to the awards ceremony that no one has seen them in or remembers seeing them in.
And ... what's the big deal about Johnny Weir wearing the same outfit as someone else .. geez ... it's really not the end of the world and if it is .. god help us all.
You and Rachel really need to get some perspective on what's really important ... clothes should really be at the bottom of the list.
Brad, You are so adoreable and have the greatest style-sense I have seen for a guy. I have loved Johnny W for ages and to see you two together was priceless. As hard as the work is, you do have a dream job. Do you have any aspirations to design? Keep up the good work .....!

Last season, I was a fan of yours and felt bad for you around Taylor. To be honest though, you're more stress to watch. You seem to LOVE delivering bad news. As a "Style Director" and basically an assistant to Rachel, you should try assessing situations rather than deliver bad news and then wait for her to freak and then you try to handle it. I agree with the girl who was saying it was unprofessional of you to add "Fired" when you got off the phone to Ashley. Would you guys have preferred she show up to work and make all of you sick so you couldn't style anyone? Grow up, Brad. Less Drama.

Brad, i can not think of anybody more perfect for Rachel's team than you. So glad Taylor is gone, and you proved yourself many times over to make the work done.You do an excellent job, it comes natural to you, and you make Rachel (and us viewers laugh) which makes a workplace so much more at ease. I think you are a class act. You are genuinely nice, intelligent, passionate and humble. Thank goodness that you were able to bear the brunt of Taylor's nastiness and hang on! The show is so much better, and I hope you stay the same as you did from the beginning of the show. I understand that everyone evolves; however, since this is Hollywood, please keep your original character and being -- what a breath of fresh air!
You pulled off the shoot with class! BRAVO! I'm not missing Taylor one bit!
P.S. Set Rachel and Rodger up with Bethenny and Jason Hoppy from BGM to see if that would help Rachel make up her mind about having a baby, career, husband and tv show!

Brad, I just have to tell you that my 3 month old loves you. It all started when her and I were watching the show with you and Johnny. She was laughing out loud. I couldn't believe it! Now every time she sees you on TV she starts laughing and talking to the TV. I'm not really sure why she like you so much, but you now have the youngest fan ever!!!

Watching Season 1 on DVD i must tell you - THANK GOD you made through that craziness with moody Taylor. Poor guy... What worked in your favor is your patience and sense of humor ! And of course having a great sense of style doesn't hurt either *wink*

Brad love you on the show, I think you should have been stronger from day one and stud up to taylor from the begining and you would of never had any problem with here. Ps where can I find that pair of black shoe's with the studs along the side they were cooooool.

Brad, I liked you when you were a part of Rachel's team but you had to go and back stab her. I am sooooooo disappointed that you are getting your own show and I will make sure that none of my friends who watch Rachel even give your show a glance. Without Rachel, you can't carry a show.
