All that Gilvers Is Not Gold

Episode 2: How many types of gold does it take to make a successful Editors' Event? Bravotv.com's Associate Editor attempts to find out.

Hey guess what? This Editors' Event: "Basically it's a culmination of Rachel's entire career." Yeah, so no pressure hanging over the heads of Team Zoe this week. Not any pressure at all guys. But like Mandana says, "just let me do my job," so let me go ahead and recap this highly anxious episode for you.

How to Watch

Catch up on The Rachel Zoe Project on the Bravo App.

Gilver Hoop Dreams
Under all these surmounting odds, Jeremiah gets his first big test -- pulling jewelry for RZ's event. And then mentions something that was so unbelievable, I almost couldn’t take it. He says he could "build you a house but I don't know what a hoop is." Honey, are you serious? Have you never seen Mean Girls? Don't you at least know that hoops are Regina George's thing? Even if your parents got you a nice pair of white gold hoops for Hanukkah, none of Rachel's models can wear them because it's Regina George's thing.

Just kidding. Pull those hoops in all five types of gold, which yes, as a Persian, or a woman, or as a Team Zoe member you should know.

In the end, Jeremiah was as good as the monkey Mandana almost sent, but Rachel showcased the line sans baubles, which I think was a smart choice. But we’ll get to all that in a second. . .

Joey: Whoaaa!
Joseph Maalouf: You are wanted. As soon as Rachel laid her little eyes on her bestie Joey, she wanted to put him in her amazing suitcase and tote him back to the left coast with her. So after he endured getting Rodger's scarf situation sorted (plaid and tweed are fine!), smoothing things over in the car ride to the Editors' Event, and more, Rodg finally laid it out there -- why don't you just come back to Los Angeles with us? Promises of being Rachel’s right hand man and cars withstanding, Joey still had some reservations. Granted, I would have shoved my faux fur vest in the first bag-like vessel I could have found and gotten on the plane, but you know, I’m mobile.

As things progressed, Joey was as indispensable as ever, even perking up a bit to decide how he felt about Jeremiah, which I suppose is why he decided to invite him to a “you best not be trouble” breakfast.

No amount of warm croissants or complimentary coffee refills could smooth over the situation -- perhaps because they fact that they were dressed alike (in matching Drop Dead Fred style outfits). Joey is so suspicious of young Jeremiah, considering couches and dresses are different, but hopefully the little bullfrog while prove him wrong.

$105 Jesus Sandals
Watch this, and feel shamed that as a baby you were not so well dressed.

Yup.

Mother of Invention
So much happens this episode, I have to admit it was tricky to recap. My tiny eyes were too overwhelmed with the splendor of the inaugural RZ Collection. I mean, let’s just talk for a second. I have two words for you: CONTRAST CAPE. And two additional words: SEQUIN BLAZER. The collection was really a knock out of the park, according to my obviously integral to its success opinion, but don’t just take my word for it. Take the words of pretty much every important editor or buyer worth their salt in NYC (including Kate Dimmock, who I interned for once upon a time).

And then it got precious and emotional, when the always delightful Joe Zee snuck in to hand deliver the glorious photo of Rodg and Rach in their John and Yoko finery. This coming a snip moment behind Ken Downing mentioning that the line was a perfect balance. It was all too much! Excuse me while I take a moment to bounce back.

And I'm back. Next week Rachel’s keeping up with a Kardashian! Hopefully while she’s talking to Kim she can also give her some tips to take back to Bruce about his earrings.
