As I learned after having Skyler, life doesn't slow down when you have a baby. And of course, just as I'm getting the hang of the balancing act of being a working mom, everyone wants to know if I'm going to have a second child.
Since work always has me traveling, I headed to New York again, this time for the opening of DreamDry and a segment on Good Morning America. Rodger and I were so excited to finally see the salon completed, and it looks so amazing! My chevron floor was exactly what I was hoping for and all of the décor is as chic and glamorous as the styles that all of the cool NYC girls are going to get when they visit! I could not be more proud!
You know what I have for so long was sad, is that Rachel never refers to the business as a family business. Everything is 'her", yes she is the brand, BUT what about all the work that Roger does? Shouldn't she call it their business? Shouldn't it be their family business? She NEVER EVER EVER refers to anything that Roger does as significant to the business. He is the one who worries, works and constantly GIVES! Lastly, the "Oh my God" sound from her was probably cute back in the 80's.... but at her age. Horrible!! Then to hear her staff repeat the same weird sound. I think that it appears that Rachel literally feels that everything in their family revolves around her. I can see she loves Roger and gives herself wonderfully to her son, but everything is "HERS". She is so impressed with herself. Never, ever, ever do we see her acknowledge anything about Roger's dedication and hard work. Makes me sick. Lastly, Skyler should have normal little boy clothes. Give Roger some reign on raising him as his son and give him real play clothes. She said on one episode that she was justifying all his clothes from Gucci, etc.,that it was okay, because she gives them away. But WHO even in the world, even celebrities don't give their children normal play clothes??? What Good Will does she give the clothes to? Too much! Too much!!!
I couldn't agree more. this season is all about Rachel. I don't like the way she talks anymore and I think Roger should be able to dress his son like a normal little boy, he isn't a Gucci model!! I miss the old Rachel
I have watched your show since season one and really enjoyed it. I love the energy you have and how you have kept that excitement with fashion and fashion shows, etc. since the beginning, it never gets old to you. You remind me of a kid in a candy store in a good way. This season, I have to say I was a little disappointed. I am very happy for your success, I love your brand and how successful you have become, you and Roger both deserve it. I know you have both worked very hard to obtain it. This season it just didn't seem like I was watching your show. What happened to the Oscars? I loved watching your excitement as you looked for those perfect looks for your clients and the ups and downs that brought. What styling I did see you do was for a model at a photoshoot. I really even like your fashion line and seek it out when shopping and receive the Zoe Report for fashion and beauty tips. But this season it seemed like all we saw was you putting together your fashion line and how tired you are. Let me say though, you have a beautiful little boy and it is obvious you and Roger have a very loving family. I do think you should seriously consider having another child and soon. I have five children and could not imagine my life without any one of them. I am not a stay at home Mom either, I have managed to maintain a successful career in both management and executive roles in a leading global financial company, so it was difficult for me as well. You just have to depend on your husband and your family. You probably feel like you could never love another child like you do Skyler, but let me assure you, you will and just as much. Another child will actually make your life easier because Skyler will have a built in buddy for play and companionship. And, when the day comes he looses both of his parents, he will have a sibling who has the same memories as him growing up and he won't be alone. I wish you nothing but the best and much success but the show is a changing and I'm just not sure if it is a show I want to watch with the little bit of time I do have to enjoy tv.
Just wanted to say that you are an inspiration. We love your show and watch it religiously. You and your family are great! But, of course, the style you set is incredible. Your work is always brillant (styling and your line), and the care you give to it shows that you never strive for anything less that your best-- guess that is one of the reasons why you are so successful. Keep doing what you do and NEVER stop wanting more. Don't let any negative comments get to you. (For a world-class fashionista, you seem to take random comments made by incredibly silly people too much to heart-- at least the way the show portrays it).
Good luck with everything!
We can have it all - just not all at once! Don't let anyone pressure you into Baby #2. Life is about making the choices that are right for you and your partner.
Having worked with very successful fashion lines in my former life, I'd like to know how your team has time to roll around on a rug in the middle of the day? What had each of those young women done that day to increase sales and improve the business - especially in THIS economy?? If I was the boss they'd be fired so fast their high-lighted heads would spin!
You lost me this year! I can't watch you tell us for 40 minutes how busy and tired you are! So sad and please the O my god sound you make ... scary!
ROGER NEEDS A REAL JOB. THIS ONE LEAVES HIM WITH WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON HIS HANDS. HE DOES NOTHING - HE PLAYS GOLF AND GOES SHOPPING FOR CANDLES. MAN UP AND MAKE A LIVING. AND Mandana has got to go - such a whiner!
I love Rachel Zoe. Watching her is like getting a good work out. It inspires you, makes you feel invigorated and brings you up the rest of the day!!! Rachel, You bringing your own dreams to fruition makes me believe in my own. Trish
Rachel you are amazing...you wear so many hats like you always say in your show...you make me want to follow fashion and have opened me up to designers I would have only dreamed about. When I go in my walk in I think of what really makes fashion. I want to put together an outfit that has "me" written all over it. And that's exactly what I have gotten from your very own advice, Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. And the other day a girl from work said that is so Elsa.. there you go.. Success! I admire you and your team. I look up to you and will always follow your fashion sense. I also admire you being a career driven mother which is what I am as well, Thank You!!
I think you would be a sweet and great person no matter what you do! Never forget where your blessings come from. Your will never regret spending too much time with your son ... He is precious !
