Rachel Zoe

Rachel explains why stakes had never been higher than at her Lincoln Center Fashion show.

on Mar 6, 20130

The stakes have never been higher than they were for me during New York Fashion Week.

Not only was it my first time to have a full runway show in Lincoln Center, but I had to pull it all off while also attending other fashion shows to support my friends -- like Prabal Gurung, Reed Krakoff, Michael Kors, and Oscar de la Renta -- and play the role of stylist.

Did I mention I had to do everything in addition to wearing my most important hat as a full-time mom?

Of course, I needed my magical son Skyler around me 24/7! Thankfully with him, Rodger, and my amazing team by my side, I was able to accomplish a collection and runway show that I was truly proud of in front the industry's top editors, designers and influencers -- and it doesn’t get more maj than that!

Ummm, sorry to be a downer, but I really couldn't watch this season. I get it, she's out schlocking her goods everywhere, but the company is completely run by other people. Im not sure why she is so stressed, all she has to do is point and make decisions...not work in. A sweat factory churning out cheap dresses. And full time mother...PUH-LEASE!!! Full time help there too, I'm glad someone could clean, feed and ress your child so he could trot in for a daily visit with mummy. And the Brad thing is a real turn off. I'm not sure if the feud is for ratings or if she's really so petty. A little graciousness couldn't hurt. Obviously we can't know the truth, only what they say on camera, which may or may not mean anything, but if I remember correctly he workd his butt off for the company, then went off on his own to succeed....isn't that what assistants are supposed to do and a career is built on opportunities. I'm sure Rachel didn't start out all by herself and on her own....soooooo get over it and move on.

Egads, I am shocked by some of the comments.   Rachel, I think you are a great stylist and designer.  I love your 60's black and white dress.  OMG it takes me back to the 60's for sure.  Love your clothes!  I will be 60 in a couple of months but what I see in you is pure talent and creativity.  You were peeved at Brad but I think you probably got over it.  Your cute as a button and you have a wonderful little family.  All the best to you!

Rachel,

I heard you say on this last episosde that it's not worth it if it's not fun! My, how we've changed! You used to stress me out watching you stress out! OMG that baby is beyond! What a cutie! -Next, no sour grapes over ex-employees! Not worth it! Everybody starts somewhere and these people wanted to start with the best and they did! Consider it flattery! It wasn't cute watching a clip of you and Rodger ignoring Brad at a fashion show. You must be more graceful than that!

Rachel - Huge fan - have been well before you even hit the screen - love your style and your vision. Your son is absolutely adorable and I enjoy watching him run around calling you 'mommy" - I also think that you and Rodger are a great team and maybe because my daughter is a huge fan of your clothes and owns many pieces (she's 26) I don't believe all that I read - and those who do - should actually check it out for themselves before rushing to judgement.  Same for anything.  I too wear your clothes and am from the Fleetwood Mac days were Stevie's look was so awesome - I don't think you need to compete with the other designers that you admire and love - but compete against yourself.  You have worked long and hard to get where you are and I doubt you are going to not succeed if nothing else - your vision and creatively and perfectionism makes you unique.  In terms of Brad - well he seems like a nice enough guy and no one really knows what goes on after the cameras are gone but clearly he has hurt you and Rodger and as I pointed out to him (because he really cares LOL) that he owes you and Rodger some form of apology and/or explanation.  I also believe your styles and creative nuances are totally different and that there is plenty of room for his success - he speaks to a different audience and disssapointed that it appears to have ended poorly.  Keep doing what you are doing - you work hard and have a great deal of talent and it shows!  Just show me more of that adorable little boy - and I love your bangs! Cheers!

Rachel, you are such a nervous woman that I no longer watch you. Unwind and try to enjoy the experience.

Why are ppl here acting like they know Rachel or Brad personally and knew the inner workings of their relationship??? Sounds ways to personal to just be a fan reaction. I will say that I shivered a bit at the shade she threw Brad. Not very professional.....

Love Rachel, Rodger and Sky. I refuse to watch Brad's show. I thought he was lazy and never stopped complaining when he worked for you. What he did after everything you did for him was disgusting. If he wanted to go out on his own then he should have been a man about it and been honest. Not just use you and lie and leave.  Loved your collection. You are an amazing woman.  Team Rachel ,Rodger and Sky. P.S Sky is absolutely Gorgeous. Maybe you and Rodger will want a little Rachel?????

It is common practice among fashion designers to apprentice with an established name to hone their skills.  Even though they trained under someone, eventually, they develop their own style for which they are known for.  Same goes for stylists.  Brad is too talented to be an apprentice forever.  Be proud that you were part of someone's achievements.  Be realistic too that not all employees grow old with one employer.  They do move on .......

Obviously when someone quits a job, they are "going out on their own" aka going to do something else.   Brad said that he needed some breathing time to be with his spouse and that Rachel's schedule was wearing him out, but he didn't say he was retiring!  He has every right to do what he wants with his career, and it is isn't his fault that he is very telegenic and that lots of opportunities came his way.  Rachel was just jealous about his popularity, but should have been supportive and happy for him.  I hate when employers assume their underlings are "their property" and not individuals with dreams and power of their own.

Love your line, Skyler adorable, you seem like you are really enjoying motherhood.   But your not a full time mom, you have nanny, which is fine, your a very busy women and you need the help.  But remember there are plenty of women with children just a busy as you, and don't have nannies.

Rachel - I love your show and have followed your career and find that you and Rodger are fabulous together and your son adorable.  I believe that when Brad left you were hurt because you felt he betrayed you - as you are aware many apprentices go out on their own - that's the business - however perhaps (and we don't know this) he did tell you about his aspirations and he couldn't grow within your firm underneath your marque - with that said - he should have been honest - if he wasn't and I do applaud the fact that he speaks highly of you and gives you credit for his exposure - I was dissapointed in you that you would hold a grudge - against Taylor I could see that - she badmouthed you and Rodger - but I haven't heard or read anything negative Brad has said only that he admired you.  Perhaps he should try harder to mend the fence - rebuild the bridge, etc. however, I BELIEVE there is plenty of opportunity for both - you have branched out and neither of you are a threat to one another - he is very different from you - and your shows are not in compeition - you both bring different flavors and experiences to the screen.  So please keep doing what you are doing and I would love as I think most of your fans would agree that you and Brad could at least be cordial to one another - actually I also took Brad to task because he should have been the bigger person and said hello - maybe not a hug and air kiss - but a hello - however - if you look at the tape and see Brad he is red and I think intimidated by the entire thing - he's a nice guy or at least he portrays it - who knows - makes for great TV!

It's great to have you back and see your lovely little boy.  So adorable.  As another viewer remarked, motherhood becomes you.  The only thing that marred an otherwise awesome premiere was snubbing Brad.   You really have it all and there is room for both of you on Bravo and in the fashion world.  I wish you and your family continued success and much

happiness.

Rachel, I've watched your show from the beginning and I loved the first show of the new season.  Your spring line is beautiful and I would wear every piece in it.  I hope Joey will be on future episodes!   I wish you good luck in every business venture and I wish your family the very best.

I have to agree- like you but please grow up when it comes to Brad.  You are an adult- people move on- your snubbing him makes you look like a child.

Wow, so juvenile ignoring Brad Goreski when you saw him with Andy Cohen backstage at a fashion show.  I thought you were better than that.  How are you going to teach your own child to rise above it if you can't even do it yourself?

Enjoy the fashion part of the show. Love Skyler. Don't like all the whining and complaining Rachel and the lady VP do about how stressed they are. Once is enough!!!! We get it.

WTG on the show.  Sorry, I do not understand the collection.  You want it to be for the "it" girls.  Who is the "it girl" buyer?  Sorry, as this 20 year fashion (back ender in the business (manufacturing), I do not see a clear vision or theme or even 2 themes for the collection.  I wish you every success.  You will find a way to narrow your focus & make money on your brand.  Loved the show.

Rachel, I loved your collection! I would wear every single outfit and I've never thought that about any other runway/preview show. Amazing work! I will definitely check out your clothes in-store. Congrats on your success! You work hard and it pays off.

So glad you're back! Love the behind the scenes fashion show. Can't wait for your spring collection to hit the stores! Going shopping over weekend and hope I'll see some of your beautiful designs. Skylar is precious! I hope one day you'll get over Brad leaving you and can speak again to him. You have a very full life and no matter what happened between the two of you, it's time to forgive and forget. Becoming a mom you should really realize how life changes and life is too short! Again I'm glad you're back! I'm a huge fan!!!! Love the bangs!

Dear Rachel,

I have to say motherhood becomes you!  I thought you fantastic when you were expecting...when most women do not....you looked soooo happy, healthier and gorgeous, but now that you are a mom you look more beautiful than ever....and content.....complete.

So happy for you and Roger....Skylar is adorable....those big blue eyes!

I thought that was Brad! I didn't see him until I was watching a repeat on Saturday. Did he attempt to speak to them?

SkyeAshley

@Mommyjam  obviously she knows that. @rachelzoe  including myself; as well as, any person who has worked hard to build their business we all say this... " Do whatcha gotta do, but when you leave you leave all of it and start on your own with the skills you've learned".  Because only then will other respect you more.

bpster

@merin99 Here's another spin to your theory.....I hate when employees, lie and steal clients. Hate to pour thousands in training only to have them quit. Listen I'm really could careless about these two. However this notion that Rachel should forgive him is absurd. Had he been honest and upfront this wouldn't be an issue. Why would she want to forgive him? He's a liar and cannot be trusted. Let's call it what it is okay. He was not just an employee but a friend. Who needs friends like that?

bpster
bpster

@PJC He isn't even close to the same level there is no threat. Brad's just an opportunist, lair, etc....don't group them together it's insulting.

tmbravo

@ampatone I couldn't agree with you more! These comments on here about her snubbing Brad backstage and how rude she was are absurd. Brad would be NOTHING had it not been for Rachel Zoe!

@j524  @shysharonit didn't appear that noone attempted to speak to each other, sad, isn't it? Hello doesn't hurt!

I get annual thank notes from the people I've hired and I have recommended them for promotions and even though they don't work for me anymore, they still thank me every year for giving them their start!
