Need More To Chew On

Bethenny Frankel talks about Dwight Eubanks, Sheree's shoes, and Kim's birthday party cleavage.

By Bethenny Frankel

Well the Housewives of Atlanata have definitely got people talking. Thank you for all of your comments whether negative or positive. Everyone has an opinion and if i'm giving mine, I love hearing yours. To clarify, I'm not the one who called Atlanta "Black Hollywood" -- it was stated in the show. Frankly, i never realized it was such a haven of glamour and high-profile sports figures and all that the show portrays. I've only been there once. I had a great time, but that wasn't the world I saw in Atlanta.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Also, i'm merely commenting on what I see in their show. Once mine is back on the air, I'll be happy to discuss the absurdities in my show as well. As for the few comments about my material posessions and that i'm a trust-fund baby, I'm sorry to disappoint. I've earned everything I have and never been given anything from my parents. Thank god because it has made me the women I am today.

Also, I must clarify that I do write this blog myself. I love to write and if you know me at all by now, you know my voice and this is it.

Now to the important matters: the show.

We learned that NeNe, one of the most down to earth characters so far has a token gay husband. His name is Dwight Eubanks and he's apparently a celeb hair stylist. Aren't we all so ridiculous? I'm sometimes referred to as a celeb chef, Sheree seems to have a celeb stylist and now we have the celeb hair dresser. They had lunch, chardonnay, and he tried to tempt her into dessert, but she's on a diet and isn't having it. What we learned in this scene is that NeNe is taking the high road regarding the Sheree guest list moment, and she is moving on. Well done.

Lisa and her husband seem adorable and in love. Just their golf scene was sweet enough to make me keep dating. Isn't love grand? I stand corrected in my comment on charity and lack thereof. It seems that DeShawn has a charitable organization that helps teens which I think is great. She has her dream house of 15,000 square feet, but she is virtually a single mother and she is giving back. Also well done.

A major theme this week was Kim's daughter Brielle's birthday party. As i said last week, she seems to try to be a good mother, but I really am against spoiling your children so young. The hardest workers and the most successful people I know learned the value of a dollar young. Also, when children are given too much too young, they are always longing for more. It is an empty hole to fill. I think it was so great that Kim wanted to give her daughter an incredible, memorable birthday experience, but i think a $1600 bag at that age is a little excessive and makes the other children feel uncomfortable and envious.

I also just have to giggle at the amount of cleavage in this show in general but in particular Kim's showing of her merchandise at her daughter's party. I maintain that she has got a little bit of Texas. She did come from humble means, she is trying to give her daughter everything and I can't help but like her a little. This Big Poppa thing feels sticky though. Let's stay tuned for that moment.

I also think it is sweet that NeNe and Brielle are close. It shows that NeNe is a good person and takes interest in her friend's daughter. Everybody made nice nice at Brielle's birthday, NeNe and Sheree gave each other some nice compliments and put it behind them. The drama was built up for that to be a big conflict scene and it was anticlimactic at best. Something tells me that this NeNe/Sheree moment isn't over just like Jill and Ramona on my show. Their conflicts always rear their ugly heads.

Sheree, Sheree, Sheree. Is it necessary to own 1,000 pairs of shoes much less to discuss it? It really does feel so void and vapid and superficial. I hope her character has more to offer than shoes and Dolce Gabbana dresses. So far it's seven figures and 1,000 pairs of Manolos.

And Sheree, seven figures may not be able to support this spending and still send your kids to college. She also discusses her husband and his being detached. I'll take her word for it, but i don't think it is good taste to discuss your divorce in public.

Back to Lisa and Ed Hartwell. Could he be sweeter and could they be cuter? I loved their scene in the real estate meeting together. They are a team. She cut him off and finished his sentence but they seem together. He's an athlete -- he knows about team work and he has found a team member in Lisa.

When she was sick and he made homemade chicken soup for her, I truly was moved. He is so sweet, and we all love when men show that softer side usually attributed to women -- especially when coming from a big, burly athlete. Very sweet relationship. I'm a chef and I don't even make homemade chicken soup for myself when I'm sick.

Well, that's it for now. I liked this week, but i liked the teaser and first episode better. They better continue with the drama. I need more to chew on.
