I identify with so much of what you have been through! I lost my husband unexpectantly at the age of 34. He just went to sleep and never woke up. I will tell you that time does heal your soul! At the age of forty I met a man who had 5 children and they also had different mothers. It was a battle between me and my mom as well. She did not understand because she was not in the relationship...I was. I knew exactly what I was getting into. Love doesn't always come wrapped in a pretty bow...it can be complicated, but it is still love. We are married now and very happy. As for my mom, she has learned that I was right. You have many people who have been where you are...we are praying for your continued strength and we love you Kandi!!! You put the REAL in The Real Housewives of Atlanta!!!

First, I would like to send my love to you and to AJ's family. It was a raw deal losing AJ at such a young age; his six children are whom my heart goes out to the most. I have special sympathy for your mom too. She had an intuitive feeling that this would not work out, although it was not what she expected, it has to be hard on her now and she is probably feeling guilt over voicing her opinion. She should not feel guilt at all, she is a mom and just wants what is best for her baby, that, being you. You must be so proud to have such a loving, caring mother; she is probably the reason that you have stayed so grounded. Again, I am sorry that you are going through this pain and although it is hard to hear right now, but it is true, time really does heal wounds.
