Season 3
Season 2
Season 1
Based on all the comments and emails I have received regarding our trip to Africa, it appears that our voyage has really inspired many people to either travel to the continent or establish some type of connection with it through charitable means or some other type of positive action. I cannot begin to tell you how excited that makes me. My first trip to Africa was truly a life-changing experience. It came about after working with editor and literary consultant, Meri Danquah, who is from Ghana. Through that relationship and work with a mutual client, Meri and I became good friends, and she invited me to join her during her next visit to Ghana, and I happily obliged. I had always dreamed of visiting Africa, and finally my moment had arrived.
When we hear about tourism in Africa, South Africa is usually the most touted destination. However, Meri was a native of Ghana, and historically Ghana is very fascinating. It was the first black African country to gain its independence in 1957 and is considered the gateway to the continent. After researching the country, my interest was quickly peaked. Since I visited Ghana with a native Ghanaian, I did not have a regular tourist experience. I was able to see the country from her vantage point which was most decadent. I had the pleasure of touring the same slave castle that President Obama and the first family toured when they visited Ghana. I also went to Kakum National Park and braved the suspended 131 feet high canopy walkway, which was scary yet empowering. These experiences gave me a glimpse of what my forefathers endured centuries ago.
While the landmarks we visited where captivating, the travel books always say that it is the people that make Ghana such a special place. I found that to be true. I was able to hobnob with many intriguing people, like Anna Bossman, who was the head of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Atukwei Okai, who runs the Pan-African Writers Association, and John Dramani Mahama, who was a Member of Parliament back then and is currently the Vice President. Meri’s cousin, Joe Ofori-Atta, who is part of the Akyem royal family, took me around and introduced me to numerous dignitaries. I met the Okyenhene, king of the Akyem Abuakwa kingdom and interacted with one of the presidential candidates, Nana Akufo-Addo, who shared with me that he had a daughter that was also named Phaedra.
Pheadra your best blog to date. Thank you for planning the trip and although there was some drama, between the Nene named, Small vs Tall, I truly enjoyed the voyage back home.
Lovely blog, Phaedra. Thank you for sharing your insight and experiences. Despite the drama, it was one of the best HW shows aired to date, IMO, and I'm glad that the ladies took the time to visit the orphanage and love on those kidos. You and Kandi are my favorites because you both lead productive and interesting lives that are not about what you have or what you wear; it's about who you are - empowering, professional women living your lives to the fullest. Since, you have a heart for Ghana, I would encourage you to explore child sponsorship through Compassion International where you can truly make a difference in a child's life. God bless!
Love your attitude and sense of humor, Phaedra! I like how you brush things off and don't engage in the mess :)
Thanks for being bigger that the talls. Nene used her entire blog to tell LIES! Can you all have a session where a real therapist come in and talk to the ladies. Mrs. leakes thought the medicine man was going to tell her something like she was going to do more shows, be more popular, get more money. That darn medicine man hit the nail on the head. He told big girl she was unhappy, which we all know by the way she conducts herself. You and Kandi Burrus sho' nuff rock Macon, GA.....peeps still talking about it.
Oh Phaedra, I love your insight on the wonderful trip & most everything else you share with all of us. You are by far my favorite & there's no one,on housewives or other show, that makes me laugh or cry like you! Please don't ever leave the show,I think I'd quit watching.........I was going to tell you my favorite spot you did but I just can't narrow it down. You'll have to believe me that I love you & all of your antics! You also seem more honest & at ease with yourself than the other girls. Thank you & again, please keep it up!
I love the fact that you are always positive, despite other's negativity. The Sunday after Whitney Houston passed away, your interview on WWHL was very heartfelt, and positive. Keep it up.
I love watching you this season. You're still yourself and I LOVE how you were true to your christian beliefs and didn't allow the shaman to read the bones for you. Good girl!
You go girl.....you ROCK!!! I really admire you I love you southernest in you and just love your style....you got it going on and please don't let anyone tell you different. That was very nice to plan a trip to Africa for you and the girls inspite of the taggalongs you all seem to really have a nice time!!
Hi Phaedra, i am a ghanaian currently studying here in the United States. Honestly, i am extremely excited about how you thoroughly described your trip to Ghana. I appreciate the very many wonderful things you said about my country. I hope as time goes on, people will come to appreciate Africa more.
hey phadra, just thought id let you know that you inspire me. I am currently finishing up my BA in criminal justice and will be headed toward law school next year. Being that this a reality tv show, everyone and i do mean everyone has an opinion that they think is important, but its not. throughout all the drama, you and only you are able deal with it in a professional and lady like manner. The fact that you view this show as a means to more money, and you never let anyone get you out of character is very impressive and deserve the utmost respect and acknowledgement. You and I, we are business women, and all though neither one of us are perfect, and although we both have said bad thing about others, the way we carry ourselves speaks for itself. perception is 9/10thS the law were I come from. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AND YOU LOVE ONES, SINCERELY A REAL TRUE FAN TENIQUA I MARTIN
Phaedra I thought you would bring the women together but you kept the division going; all of you are no better than the other and I thought that you would see that. Unity can never be achieved if a person thinks that they are better than the other one. What makes you think that what Kim has done with her life is any better than Marlo's or NeNe's.
Phaedra knows exactly what she's doing when she writes her blog. She doesn't want to discuss her own actions on the episodes so she diverts with her speeches . Making sure she says safely away from any judgmental issues because she too can be judged for her foolery.
That's my girl, told ya that you are the brains of the outfit! And your blog proves it. Educating us about Africa, instead of all the petty b.s. some the others write about. You appear to be the most grounded and consistent with regard to your interaction with the other women. I find your blog to be interesting, articulate, and heartfelt. Including that keen sense of humor you have. Blessings to you, Apollo, and Aaden.
Phaedra You are the wittiest person on this show and the reason I watch! You were right not to get the bones thrown! All the other ladies had pretty much negative feedback.
We could so be best friends! Enjoy watching you & hoe you conduct yourself. You are a true business woman who knows how to take care of your family & friends.
Phaedra I think you are a total Hoot! I LOVE you and think you are one of THE most GENUINE of the Housewives. Your compassion was so evident while in Africa and I think a LOT OF THE VIEWERS appreciated how you TRIED to get the ladies to enjoy and appreciate the trip. Tip........next time don't bring Marla OR Sheree !! I think you'll do great in the Funeral Home endeavor also!
Phaedra.....let me start by saying, at first when I saw you on the first show, I though you were going to be a Hot mess. As, I continued to watch the shows, I can truly say, you are a real "GEM" with a beautiful spirit! and you have been blessed with a beautiful family and a wonderful career!
xoxo, Chef CC
Phaedra, I hope there will be more RHOA shows where you travel to Africa. These past episodes have been amongst best ever-you helped to educate all of us! :)
Phaedra you were are a major part of the divide on the trip and through out the season. You don't have much of a story line, so you run around acting inappropriate for example always looking and commenting on Kandi's donkey, the way you behaved with the man at "Chauteau Neverland" was way out of line, you acted like you were thirsty for something and it looked like you made him very uncomfortable that was not cute at all, and not to mention your obsession with Ridiculious is over the top. It's quite funny how you ladies were all over Marlo giving her nothing but Kuddo's and wanted her and Nene to be enemies, but since it did not work thus far y'all can't stand her..WOW !!!! now that's crazy !
I see some intersesting comments about your blog. Girl these people don't want a history lesson from you about Africa. You just felt the need to write all that crap because the ladies laughed at you soooooo hard when you mentioned you know Kings, royalty or whatever you were trying to impress them with, Girl is was over the top !!!!!! Sometimes you just need to stop it. Because when I saw you go to court with a guy over tinted windows violation or something to that nature and then he paid you in cash outside like a local thug girl I lost all respect for you, It was not a good look to have shown on TV for a lawyer of such a high profile status as you call it. Phaedra I find your role on this show very boring.
hey Phadera, you r so sweet and polite. Everything that a person from the south represents. Girl keep doing u ok? You got it going on.
Hey Phaedra how are you? I believe you are an inspiration to all the housewifes of Atlanta. You have everything any woman would want success a wonderful family and a gorgeous husband. Congratulations on my part they should of made a show about you and how you can teach some not all the housewifes of Atlanta how to carry themselves professionally. You rock !!!!!!!!!
Phaedra,
I laughed like crazy when you were dancing behind disco Marlo. Her outfit was just down right tacky. I have always liked you on the show. I think this season, we have gotten to see more of your humor. You are adorable!
Phaedra, The poster who said she lost respect for you because your client paid you in cash is just plain ignorant. Doesn't she know that US cash is 'legal tender' here and therefore appropriate for making any monetary transactions/paying off a debt in the USA? I do believe that US courthouses also accept cash if I am not wrong! . . . So why should anyone have an attitude about YOU getting paid in CASH for your services rendered as an attorney??? Maybe they are just jealous because they see you ARE getting PAID??? (I'm thinking Sheree!) (What did they think? You were gonna get paid in 'bones' or something else? lol)
I love your blog, Ms. Phaedra. Everybody knows you are the smartest and most educated of all the housewives. Some of the comments here reflect a resentment toward you because you happen to be more educated and because you aspire to greater heights than most or any of the other housewives. You are unique and not everyone is going to like your uniqueness. But I for one, do.
Pheada,I love you on the show and your southrenbell antems,Stay real and above the @#$%^...We need more of you and Less of the Want a be Marlow she will be the first to slap a law suit on the show or the other girls TROUBLE thats MARLOWWWWW.
i guess the saying about first impressions aren't true.... i really didn't take to you in the beginning, but man how i love you now... i am really a fan of the talls but overall you are my favorite.... keep being so intelligient.... i love it...
Pheadra, I have been blessed to have visited Africa many times. My first occasion was in 2007 when I visited Ghana with my cousin, his wife & their granddaughter who at the time was 11years old. I found the people there to be very proud of their country & heritage. The experience humbled me & made me appreciate all that I have been blessed with. I visited Elmina Castle & cried as I stood in the room where the slaves were huddled before being transported through the door of no return. That was a feeling I will not soon forget! I also visited the Kakum National Park & did the canopy walk. What a beautiful country!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU!!!!!!
I appreciate your honesty. You know when to speak, and when to not speak. Continue to save the arguing for the court room!!! You are the essence of how a LADY should act!
Pheadra you are not pretending to have class or be intelligent, you have it, I just wish some of the others would take a page our of your book, apparently, they had no interest in learning anything historically or culturally about South Afirca, its a pitty, that such an educational trip was filled with arguments about clothes, and sugar daddy's and who does not have a bed or house. You really had all the wrong girls, continue to be your beautiful self, clothes does not make the lady, some people aught to know that. Love Ya
I loved the scenes is South Africa. I did not love all the negative drama between some of the ladies. I think Housewives of Atlanta has lost its luster! And, may I add, that a "Kim" show would be a loser!!!!
Phaedra, your actions on the show speak louder than your blog..your blog appears to be written by a well-meaning person, not the one who appears on the show..you have had more opportunities to set an example of culture and good taste and you have blown each one with your over the top antics and high-minded ideas, you criticize everyone else but need to look in the mirror, you are worst because you are educated and should know better. While your friends were on the phone with Kim for a moment you actually looked like you didn't want to be there, then your talking head popped up adding gas to the fire. That Herve Leger dress you wore a while back was just wrong too.
Phaedra, you are a real southern belle, you are not only classy you are intelligent. Its a pitty you wanted to educate the wrong girls, only Cynthia wanted to blend in the African culture in her dress, and Candi asked one question, I would have thought they would want to learn more about the history and culture of the Country, and not act like they are in Paris, with their wardrobe. You did your best, your intentions were good, but you cant educate people who dont want to be educated. The trip gave a lot of insight to the viewers, continue to be your beautiful self, and never allow anyone to draw you into, he says, she says. Love Ya
OK, Nene and Marlo and Kim drop 'labels' and Phaedra drops 'names'. What is the difference, they all boast
Phadera,
You are what i strive to be like. even though Shree made comments about you not being a real lawyer on the after show with Andy we all know that you are. Even though you and NeNe are not friends, youll are both successful business women and mothers!!!!!!!
LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU. By the way, your husband is the hottest husband of all the housewives shows!!
I think your the realist of the bunch, you try to bring some positivity in total turmoil, you really hold your own. Your baby boy is adoreable you are a true housewife...businesswoman...and a loyal friend..you round out the show and that is why you get thrown dirt sometimes...you keep it real...
Phaedra, You are to be admired. You have displayed your fun side, silliness and all (tho I think Redic was disgusting) and your professional side. You are able to express yourself and if something bothers you without getting crazy and hitting below the belt. You know how to handle yourself in all situations and you have a sweet husband, child and mother. If anyone should have her own show, it's you.
Phaedra writes such eloquent blogs...but on the show she portrays nothing but "hoodish" traits! Her comments are not witty or funny or intelligent. She's forever talking negative smack about NeNe and Cynthia and now Marlo. Of all the housewives you should have been the one who knew Marlo's background. Remember...the "socialite!"
When do you practice law? So far your client list includes: Bobby Brown...what back in 1999? Latavia Roberson? ReDICKulous? The clown in the parking lot, with the illegal tint and cash money? Apollo? Sheree?
Girl please...anybody who sleeps with Too Short and consider him a potential husband gets no respect in my book. You seem to be lobbying for your own spinoff! I guess after Tardy For The Tacky Wedding airs, Bravo will premier Phaedra's Funky Funerals! The only time I can tolerate Phaedra, is when she's spending time with baby Ayden. Those clips are really genuine and adorable.
Instead of baking Kim a cake, you better pay attention to your husband. Before somebody steal his azz..cuz he fine! You better watch him, before he ends up spending your BRAVO checks on another lady with a "donkey bootay!"

You are the ATL housewife that I enjoy watching the most. You are entertaining and classy. I learned a lot about South Africa watching your trip.
