    When Phaedra Met Roble

Phaedra dishes on her experience with Chef Roble.

    Feb 25

February, like me, is short, but oh so sweet. It is the month where we celebrate love in so many ways. We celebrate the love of love and each other with Valentine’s Day; the love of purpose and people with Black history; and the love of health with Heart Disease Awareness. As an African American woman, a person who is very much in love, a health and fitness advocate, and a member of the American Heart Association Board, this month is vital to me.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), each year approximately 600,000 people die of heart disease. Furthermore, over 935,000 people suffer from heart attacks each year, with the leading causes being physical inactivity, poor diet, and obesity. Most interestingly, more women die of heart disease than breast cancer. Statistically, those who are suffering from heart disease who work out more than three times a week lower their risks of death by 20-25%. Knowing these facts inspires me as a woman to be an advocate for fitness and healthy lifestyles. Eating right and working out is important. On January 31st, my husband and I released the second volume of our Phine Body by Phaedra and Apollo workout series, a complete body sculpting DVD, with the hope of promoting better health and fitness. While I certainly have a penchant for donkey booties and curves, my ultimate passion is living my best life, being in the best shape, and encouraging others to do the same.

During Black History month, I always like to reflect on the accomplishments of not only my forefathers who paved the way for me, but also my contemporaries. After all, tomorrow’s history is made today. So I am very happy to celebrate the success of my fellow history makers as I pay homage to those who paved the way. I celebrate the passion Cynthia poured into the Renaissance Pageant, which was wildly successful. As Kandi and the legendary gospel singer Marvin Sapp made musical magic in the studio singing Kandi’s testimonial anthem I Stay Prayed Up, I celebrate all that this song will mean to so many people. When I look at Kandi’s musical accomplishments from being a multi-platinum selling artist and Grammy recipient to being the first Black woman in 2000 to be awarded ASCAP’s songwriter of the year, I am inspired.

Gosh ladies (viewers) you are being unusually hard on Phaedra.  This is a show, entertainment, a money maker, period.  For anyone who chooses to watch HWOA, I'll assume that we're consenting adults.  I think they all have good, bad, positive, and negative images, just like in real life.  We all know the difference between right and wrong, and I don't think there is not one of us who has said something that we regret.

To Phaedra, I appreciate this blog regarding your health and you wanting to assist other people or at least reminding people to pay attention to their health.  I thank you.  Keep up the good work both you and your husband!  And to you and the other members of HWOA, GREAT SHOW!!

I watch the Housewives for entertainment. I always like Phaedra character on RHoAtl. Kenya confided in her about something really personal and Phaedra used that against Kenya. I think Phaedra really hit below the belt, which means that type of person character is the one that should really be questioned. I know viewers would say that disrespected Phaedra when flirting with Apollo. I agree that was wrong and Kenya did apologize and Phaedra graciously accepted the apology.  Now with the exercise video, Phaedra character would have never allowed her to go into business with Kenya or anybody on that show. When Phaedra and Kenya didn't have a deal, there was still a deal on the table. I personally feel that any of those women would have done the same thing that Kenya did, especially Phaedra.

I was truly disappointed in Phaedra stooping so low. I personally feel all the ladies are on the show to benefit, they should not take it to such a personal level to destroy people livelihood.  When a person has skeletons in your own closet, they should be very careful.  Phaedra is an intelligent woman who is a lawyer and she carried on about not knowing when she was going to have her baby. As an attorney she couldn't explain why Apollo had to serve time in jail. She talked about Marlo, but she dated and married Apollo.

Andy asked NeNe about her tweeting NeNe asked Andy to ask the questions at the Reunion. The tweeting was about Phaedra, Kenya and Kandi. So, maybe the questions about Kenya and Phaedra will come to light. I just hope Andy make them to answer the question..

I hear people say all the time " you gotta meet people where they're at" while this is a true statement, some choose to use it as an excuse for bad behavior. Phaedra, you are a perfect example of this person. Yes, Jesus would sit with anyone deep in sin to show them the light and love. He would not pour dollar bills onto a strippers vagina, and complement how it was so prettily shaved and condone such sin. I can agree with you that the naked body is a work of art, but once again you take things out of context. The naked body is a work of art, strip clubs however are not artistic, it's a sad way for men and women to earn money. Just because there's a smile on the outside doesn't mean there's one on the inside.

I think it's pathetic how you continue to take jab after jab at Kenya. Even though I'm not her fan, you constant jabs are showing that you're not better at being a good person than she is.

I find it odd that you haven't blogged about anything recent. The Vegas trip, being ultra late to NeNe's party, Kandi's housewarming party,  Peter's event, the shoe dazzle event......nothing new from you. Could it be because you've shown your true colors. As I'm sure you know, there's redemption for everyone, but you have some explaining to do.

I liked you last season because you seemed to find your own lane from the other cast members and bring humor to the show but now you've shown you're a hypocrite with a mean streak.

You say that Kenya is always bringing drama to the get-togethers, but then you intentionally mention Walter to get under Kenya's skin.  And then Kandi reveals that you and Apollo took it upon yourselves to invite Walter so that you could antagonize Kenya further.

You are nothing but an M & M, Ms. Parks: Mean and Messy.

Phaedra, I hope you, one day soon, learn to work well with your co-stars. In previous seasons you did not seem comfortable with them. Instead you spent a lot of time doing your own thing with out them or spending time with Dwight planning stuff to try to wow the ladies into liking you. Going over the top with your baby shower and your son’s 12 cakes at his first birthday party. You try too hard.  You have a great job, an opportunity to be on RHOA, a husband and a baby and lot more. Be thankful for that. And most of all, stop showing us how insecure you are regarding Kenya. I guess you  can’t see what you are really revealing about yourself when you constantly criticize her. I know it must be hard to be around Kenya’s hazel eyes, the pretty hair, the boobs and the butt and especially the height. I also have the hazel eyes, the boobs, the thighs, the hair,  the small waist and big butt, caramel complexion and the height so,  I can understand how Kenya might feel when people automatically want to disregard your God given beauty. Like you telling people Kenya’s booty is fake and injected with stuff from home depot. Every single time they put the camera on you, you always say something negative to say about Kenya. Then you make sure you always bring up Walter and the last straw is when you invited him to Khandi’s house warming. Let go of the girl crush you have on Kenya. All of America knows who she is and only people in Georgia knew you until this cable show so go and focus on being some one you can be proud of when you go back and watch these episode by yourself or someday with your son.

I believe you are letting Kenya get to you. Stop you are by far a much better person than she is. Do not try to compete with her on anything. You have God on your side.(When you respect him) and she has the pure devil on her side, it shows. I think you are getting carried away to make sure your viewers like you more than her, you dont have to do that. Go back to being you, Kenya is already below you, people like you more, when you are being you.

First of all, I am not a fan at all of Porsha. However, I did admire the way she stuck to what she believes by not going to the club with ladies. It must have been really hard to do with all the ladies putting so much pressure on her. I was a fan of Phaedra until she misrepresented Jesus. Yes, he did love and hang out with "the least of these" and prostitutes, and ministered to them all. How dare Phaedra compare that with going to a strip club and shoving dollar bills down some poor girls g-string. Also, I did not see her "ministering" or trying to help out one of those dancers. She was just interested looking and having fun with her friends. If some one wants to go to a club, then go. But don't misrepresent The Lord, in an effort to justify yourself. In the words of Camille Grammer, "That's not cool."

    Fab@40 403 pts

Phaedra, Jesus was among sinners to save them not "make it rain on them" and essentially encourage them to continue in their sin. Phaedra is getting a lot of backlash because of her hyprocrisy. If she waves a prayer cloth and walks around like a church lady, she can't be surprised that people will criticize for going to a strip club.  That's probably why she hasn't posted a blog in weeks.  She can't justify the hyprocrisy.

    Angellowe 194 pts

Phaedra, you're my favorite housewife.  You're so much smarter than the others (although I really like most of them).  I wish you would show your strengths more.  The exercise video is good, but it's not really you.  You need to become more cerebral on the show, that's where your strength is.  Also, forget about Kenya, she's not worth your time.

    michelle.lucas.3150 2417 pts

Phaedra, it's ok to reach down to pick someone else up, But don't get down in the mud with them. Using the word to vindicate your morality maybe a bit hypocritical. I find your views about Jesus somewhat self-serving.

    dimples60 26 pts

Phaedra was right it doesn't matter where you are Jesus was among the sinners.  Many christians are too judgemental and think their s*&6 don't stink.  If more folks went to these places maybe they would consider cleaning up some of their acts.  and on another subject Phaedra was there for Kenya when she was crying on the side of the road when Kenya's guy didn't propose to her....how quickly Kenya forget who was there for her.  And Kenya alway asking for an apology when she is calling someone out of there name.  And....she represents America as Miss USA???????????????????  Phaedra keep you man away from her and keep doing the great things you are doing with your businesses and community.  Oh, you son is so cute!

    DeeDee5304 756 pts

    Phaedra,

I don't think people get what you really did to Kenya. She confided in you about personal and private family issues about the woman that gave birth to her and you used that against her. I say the person who gave birth to her, because I am just going by what she stated. A person can give birth to a child and not mother or be a mother to a child. I can't imagine that what that is like as a young child and that does carry on to the adult. I understand that you feel Kenya was wrong about the exercise video and imitating you, but I personally feel you hit below the belt. Regardless of what a person does to you, you don't have to stoop to that person’s level. This showed a different side of you. In my opinion, I would never want to confide in someone like you. You don't have to really be a person’s friend when someone feels a connection or feel they feel safe to tell you something so private - you don't go there and use it to hurt them. That makes you no better than the person you have issues with.

I know some people don't like Kenya and that is okay, but for the hatred and remarks makes them no better than what they are accusing Kenya of being.

I personally feel that Kenya should have handled the hurt different with you. I think she gave you power, because you are taking too much enjoyment of what you did. Again, it should not have been taken to a private/personal level.

I also think what is also sad, is that I know most that are with hating is coming from Black/African Americans. Will we ever learn? Let’s remember what is said about Blacks/African Americans about the crabs in the barrel and Jim Crow.

    joyinbama 645 pts

DeeDee5304 @I do not understand why Black/African Americans have to be brought into it. People are people, it does not matter about that at all. People do people wrong and they dont care what your skin color is, why do you have to bring that into it, is it not brought into every thing enough? Witch in my opinion is BS.

    SteffieJ 119 pts

Phaedra, I think you are fabulous but in my opinion you were WRONG WRONG WRONG to come down on Porsha for avoiding the strip club because she of her faith. Being a patron of places like that sends the message that there is nothing wrong with what they are doing. It's NOT a witness to go dive in and party along with them in their iniquity...it just sends them a message of approval. Porsha was right on in her view of it, IMO.

I have no problem with what Phaedra says to Kenya she deserves what ever she gets. Am I the only one who saw the episode when Walter asked Kenya had she took her meds cause she was tripping, out but its not ok for Phaedra to say shes mental. As for going to the strip club that woman is rich sucessful and MARRIED. The sin is in indulging all she did was look. NO HARM NO FOUL.

AkinAfrica im sorry what did Phaedra say about religion / spirituality to charm the viewer? i think she is very real...may too real, thus the comments about her religious beliefs..... they all exaggerate in situations however, the way P was treated by Kenya from the beginning was crazy..and after all the flirting ,P was still the one who tried to befriend her... i think that speaks to Pheadra's heart more that all of the negative comments and her silly facial expressions. i was wondering, how we would look with a camera on our heels 24/7. Pheadra is a GOOD person...not a perfect person ... we know no one is perfect!

    joyinbama 645 pts

tori11  AkinAfrica I do think she is a good person, but the trying to get Phaedra to go to the strip club was wrong, using God to try to get her there. I would like to know the reason why she done that.  Was it because she wanted to justify the reason she was doing that?

    JenniferFM 1343 pts

I used to find your confessional comments hilarious.

Now I just find them to be fueled by jealousy and bitterness. Also, the constant licking of the lips, discussing sex, and "diving in" to the stripper experience has gotten really disgusting. You're no southern belle, Phaedra.

    Sheila0729 640 pts

I like you for the most part. I do think Kenya was wrong for doing a video focusing on the buttocks". Nothing wrong with doing a video, but the focus point did not have to be the same. It was very vindictive on her part.

I must say however, that I am really confused by you this season. One minute you are a "southern Belle", you are educated, the next you are in a strip club telling a woman how pretty her kitty kat is. I have to agree with Nene, I thought you were going to dive in the kitty kat. lol

Phaedra, the "rabbit" test to detect pregnancy is when a woman's urine is injected into the rabbit.  If the rabbits ovaries swell and begin to produce hormones, then the woman was pregnant.  The "rabbit" died because it had to be autopsied to view the ovaries.  This was also done in mice and both were 98% accurate.

As for Kenya, well I gotta say I am on your side.  That girl is mean, vindictive and more crazy than I have seen in a long time.  Best to stay away from her.  Women like Kenya who don't get attention tend to go away  and we would like her to go away!

I totally agree.  for one thing, Phaedra does not need to mention being a preachers daughter on both sides because she neither knows the Bible or acts in kind.  Jesus did not eat with a prostitute, he forgave her her sins because she had faith in him by greasing him and prepping him for his burial.  Read you Bible dear...it also says that neither drunkards nor revilers shall inherit Gods Kingdom.  Dont quote what you dont know or understand.  Porsha is doing right by her God first and then her husband.. you should only hope to be as good as her.

Glad you won the poll--as you should have.  Kenya is a mess.  She's proven to be a thief and liar with no integrity or ethics at all.  I was more that surprised that all the ladies attacked Porsha because she chose not to go to the strip club.  She is entitled to have her own beliefs (as all women should) so why the attack?  Also, I was beyond appalled that you actually tried to justify (and demean) Porsha by saying that Jesus kept the company of prostitutes thereby trying to say he condones it.  Are you serious?  I am a child of God and even though Jesus embraced all people, he healed them of prostitution--again, he didn't condone it.  And too, are you seriously trying to say that Jesus would have gone to a strip club for the show?  Aren't you a Minister's daughter - is that what your parents taught you?  Its insulting to all who believe in Jesus.  Its stupid that you thought that was a good argument to use against Porsha because she chose to stick to her beliefs and integrity.  Since you were so emphatic about being right, please tell us what part of the Bible says that Jesus went to strip shows for entertainment.  You need to hit your knees and ask for forgiveness and apologize to Phaedra and the viewers who believe in Jesus for those despicable comments.

To comment so negatively about Kenya, I am surprised you don't see anything wrong with Phaedra. Please tune in to the Reunion. I hope things are a bit clearer for you and others. Don't get me wrong, Kenya was definitely wrong in flirting with Apollo (which Apollo didn't have a problem with), how she acted with Cynthia and I am in question about the bootie video. Kenya apologized to all the people (except Porsha) that she wronged.  She apologized to Cynthia and she apologized to Phaedra for what she did with Apollo.  They both accepted the apology.  I am questionable about the video. I think both Kenya and Phaedra can take the blame on what took place with the problem with the bootie video. I think Phaedra used Kenya knowing that she was not ever going into business with her. I think Kenya intentions were to work with both Phaedra and Apollo. I even think Apollo intentions were to work with Kenya and he knew his wife (I will leave it at that). So, Phaedra chose not to go with the deal and there was still a deal on the table, what business person wouldn't take that deal that was still on the table.  I think if the table was turned all the women except Kandi would have taken the deal.  There is no question about it that Phaedra would have done the same thing that Kenya did.  As Phaedra stated to Apollo her and Kenya were friends that long.  We all have to be fair and listen to what we are actually watching with these ladies.  They are all full of contradictions.

Phaedra, you are such a hoot to watch.  You have what all women want.  A handsome husband, a beautiful child.  You are successful at everything to put your mind to.  Your comfortable in your own skin.

Kenya is a pitiful person who apparently doesn't have an original idea.  Who would want to do business with this person who copies ideas.  She owes you an apology for copying your idea. She sounds like a fish wife.  She drove me to distraction trying to get Walter to propose to her. She clings to her beauty title which was over 20 years ago, its really sad this is all she can say about her life.  All her twirling, hair flipping is really pathetic..

Phaedra, I don't see anywhere in scripture where Jesus made it "rain". He went among sinners because He said that , "The well don't need a doctor". He said, GO AND SIN NO MORE. How much of your parents' sermons were you actually listening to?
