Bravotv.com: Were you surprised when Shereé asked about compensation for Kairo again?
Cynthia Bailey: When I started my modeling career, I had no experience, and had to go through the development process. I did several modeling jobs, photo shoots, and runway shows for free (or for trade) until I had the experience, confidence, and skill that was required in order for my agency to promote and book me for paid jobs. As a new model in New York City, I was so excited to start living my dream and was grateful for any opportunity to pursue my new career, regardless of compensation. I went on to have a very successful and lucrative modeling career for more than 20 years. Many of the photographers and clients that I worked with for free (or very little compensation) went on to be some of my biggest and most loyal clients.
Bravotv.com: How do you think the Cargo fashion show went?
CB: I thought my Cargo fashion show was amazing! I loved the venue, the concept, the models, and everyone on my team that helped make the show a success. I was excited to give Kairo the opportunity to walk in his first runway show, and he did a great job. I was happy to support him, and I wish him continued success.
I thought Noelle did an incredible job opening and closing the Cargo fashion show. She is the face of Cargo, and she represented herself and the Cargo brand extremely well. Every time I ask her to step up, she always does it with class and grace. Her strength, beauty and confidence spoke volumes as she strutted down the runway. She reminded me a lot of myself so many years ago when I walked down my first runway. As an influencer, and petite model, I believe Noelle has a very bright modeling career ahead of her, and I will always support her efforts. She is ambitious, well spoken, smart, and beautiful. I am so proud to be her mother. And her best friend.
Bravotv.com: Have Kairo and Noelle become friends since the show?
CB: Yes, Noelle and Kairo are friends.
