Something good came out of Dean Sheremet's high-profile divorce from LeAnn Rimes in 2009. He struck up a friendship with Brandi Glanville, the ex of the man Rimes would go on to marry after her divorce, Eddie Cibrian.
But Sheremet wants you to know that he has bonded with Brandi over way more than just their exes, even if some people think they only revisit the past when they get together. "We don't talk about them at all, that's the funny thing! I was just in L.A. all of June shooting a bunch of different things, and we just went out and had dinner like normal people. They see us doing anything together and think it's related to LeAnn and Eddie. Like, we did a show together [My Kitchen Rules], had nothing to do with LeAnn and Eddie. It's a silly, fun cooking competition that was about us, and there was more drama between the two of us, which is kind of hilarious, because we're very interesting companions in the kitchen. We just go and have a good time. We're just out having dinner, having drinks, being normal people," Sheremet explained during a recent interview with Personal Space. "And it doesn't even come up, the LeAnn thing. It doesn't even come up unless something really crazy has happened. But I'm not gonna bring it up. It's not really a pressing issue day to day for us. But anytime anyone sees us together doing anything, it's like we're not allowed to be friends outside of that relationship. So if we're doing anything together, it's like, 'Oh, they can't get over their exes.'"
Besides, Sheremet, who gets real about breakups in the latest episode of Personal Space, and Glanville have definitely moved on in the love department. Sheremet previously detailed his adventures in navigating the New York dating scene after divorcing photographer Sarah Silver in 2016 to Personal Space. As for Glanville, she has been dating DJ Friese for about a year. Sheremet recently caught up with the couple in New York.
Sheremet said he's definitely a fan of Glanville's new love. "DJ is one of the most generous, kind, very, very funny guys you'll ever meet. Just incredibly sweet. He comes from a lot of money, but when you sit down and talk with him, he's like a normal guy. He's a really great friend. And actually, when I was [in L.A.] in June, I got to hang out with them a lot," Sheremet shared. "And I actually got to hang out with him one-on-one because Brandi was off shooting a show. He's just normal, really, really funny, and he adores Brandi. And it's the perfect thing. I hope they go the distance and it's exactly what she needs in her life right now."
Though Sheremet said that he's not sure if Glanville will ever walk down the aisle again, Friese is definitely a positive addition to his friend's life. "He is her biggest fan right now, and she needs to have that because she's been going so long with having to fight so much for herself, and it's really nice to come home and have a safe place to land," he said. "So I wish them nothing but the best."
Friese has even changed Glanville for the better, according to Sheremet. "She definitely chilled out a little bit, especially when we're just out and about, like she's in a good spot," he said. "I think she's genuinely happy for the first time in a very long time."
