Inside the 5 Most Over-the-Top Spas in Dubai... for Real Housewives-Worthy Pampering

Pamper like the housewives on holiday.

This week, we got to watch our favorite Beverly Hills troupe as they headed to Dubai to enjoy a desert vacation with jewel-studded kaftans to match. And no matter where the ladies are — or how much drama erupts — they never neglect their beauty routines. To stay fly in Dubai, Erika Girardi even brought her own glam squad clear across the globe! But in case flying out a personal beauty staff isn't a viable option, here’s a peek inside the country’s most fabulous spas.

1.  Shiqui Spa

The crew stayed at Atlantis, The Palm Dubai during their stay. And wouldn’t you know it? The palatial hotel has a fabulous spa. At Shiqui, the two-hour Dubai Glamour Ritual is perfect for visitors who like diamonds and rosé. (Ring a bell?) Starting with slimming mud wrap, the treatment includes a full-body massage and a damask-rose facial.

2.  The One & Only

Truth be told, the One & Only is actually one of many fabulous properties in Dubai. But the spa at the Palm Resort is truly a standout. Secluded from the rest of the property, it offers treatments in open-air villas surrounding courtyards filled with burbling fountains. Sound relaxing? Wait till you try the 90-minute Rhassoul Experience. Based on an ancient Arabian cleansing ritual, the treatment softens skin with sea salt and mud, and also includes a tension-melting steam session and a therapeutic bath.

3.  Talise Ottoman Spa

When the desert heat gets to Dubai travelers, the Talise Ottoman Spa has just the (frozen) thing. In the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel, the sprawling healing sanctuary offers 42 treatment rooms, in addition to steam rooms, saunas, thalassotherapy pools, and even a snow room. That’s right: There’s a room where actual snow is made. The idea is for guests to hop between the sauna to the chilly space to see major health benefits like improved skin tone and a revved-up metabolism.

4.  Banyan Tree Spa Al Wadi

In a completely lush, jungle-like setting, the spa at the Al Wadi Hotel specializes in hydrotherapy. (Which may come in handy, in the desert.) The Asian-inspired hydrothermal circuit has guests emerging from the steamy hammam and dipping into the vitality pool. To boot, this is the first spot in the United Arab Emirates to have an all pool-villa concept, so guests can take cooling dips all day.

5.  Talise Spa

Overlooking the Arabian Gulf from its perch at Burj Al Arab Jumeriah, the Talise Spa has unusual, decadent treatments like a hot-stone massage that balances the chakras. But to get acquainted with an ancient Arabian ritual, go for the Burj Al Arab Arabian Journey. The 85-minute treatment incorporates verbena-scented sand to polish up skin; the full-body massage is scented with patchouli oil.
